Workers' Federations Call on DG Labour Sindh.

A delegation of workers’ federations, led by veteran labour leader Habib Uddin Junaidi, President of the People’s Labour Federation, met with Mr. Nazir Ahmed Soomro, Director General Labour, Sindh. The delegation included representatives from a wide range of industrial and sectoral labour bodies, reflecting diverse worker interests across the province.

The Labour Department, Government of Sindh recently celebrated the remarkable career and the unquestionable legacy of Mr Muhammad Javed Khan, Joint Director Labour (BS-19). The farewell ceremony was also attended by Nazir Ahmed Soomro, Director General, Labour Department, Government of Sindh.

Deputy Commissioner South, Mr. Javed Nabi Khoso, chaired a meeting of the District Intelligence Committee to review the law and order situation and security arrangements. Mr. Fahad Dawachh, Assistant Law Officer, Labour and Human Resources Department, Government of Sindh, represented the Labour and Human Resources Department in the said meeting.

6th September marks the resilience and courage of the Pakistani nation. On this day in 1965, our armed forces and citizens stood shoulder to shoulder to defend the homeland against aggression. Today, as tensions with India once again remind us of regional challenges, Defence Day is a testament that Pakistan has always emerged stronger, united, and unwavering in the face of adversity.

The Government of Sindh is pleased to announce a two-day public holiday on September 5th and September 6th (Friday and Saturday) in the province of Sindh on account of Eid Milad un Nabi.

Director General of Labour Department, Government of Sindh Syed Muhammad Ali Shah held a meeting with a delegation of labour leaders headed by Mr. Habibuddin Junaidi, President, Peoples Labour Bureau. The meeting entailed a detailed discussion on labour reforms and the development of a roadmap for further deliberations with groups of labour leaders and employers on the draft Labour Code, scheduled to be held on the 21st, 22nd, and 25th of the current month.

Mr. Fahad Dawachh, Assistant Law Officer, represented the Labour and Human Resources Department, Government of Sindh, at the District Coordination Committee meeting on the revision of the National Action Plan, held on August 11, 2025 at the Commissioner Office, Karachi.
