𝘼𝙄 𝙬𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨—𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙧!

The Directorate SEPC believes in this notion. Through our 𝗞𝗜𝗫-𝗘𝗠𝗔𝗣 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗵, we explored how 𝗔𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲.

This vision is also reflected in the 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗵 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 (𝗦𝗘𝗣) 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗜𝗜𝗜, where the importance of AI and digital transformation has been highlighted as part of preparing Sindh’s education system for future needs. The focus is not on replacing teachers, head teachers or human capital, but on using AI as a supportive tool to improve the quality, reach and efficiency of education and professional learning.

The 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗼 initiative is a welcome step in turning this vision into practice. Led by the 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗵, in collaboration with 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗙 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻, the pilot trained around 3,100 public-school teachers across seven districts through AI-powered online training.

𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗖 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁, witnessing first-hand the growing momentum for responsible and practical use of AI in teacher professional development. SEPC remains committed to supporting 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 for teachers, school leaders and the wider education system of Sindh.

The Directorate Sindh Education Policy Commission (SEPC), represented by 𝗠𝗿. Noman Shehzad (𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿), actively participated in the Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting on Strengthening the Education Middle Tier for Foundational Learning in Sindh, bringing SEPC’s policy and research perspective to the dialogue on strengthening education leadership across Sindh.

The meeting provided an important platform for stakeholders to reflect on 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗯-𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.

𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘀, 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 | 𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗖 🤝 𝗔𝗮𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗴

A highly focused and interactive discussion was held at the SEPC-GoS Sindh with the team of Aahung, exploring shared priorities around girls’ education, life-skills-based education (LSBE), menstrual health and hygiene (MHH), and the social taboos and challenges affecting girls’ participation and well-being.

The SEPC team, led by DrAftab Ahmed Shaikh, 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗖, accompanied by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗗𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗕𝘂𝘅 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗵𝗶, 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿; 𝗠𝘀. Sadaf Raheem, 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿; 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗿. The conversation moved beyond challenges to explore 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙮, 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨, 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙘𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 to create a more supportive educational environment for girls.

The Aahung team shared its work in 𝗿𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗵, particularly its 𝗠𝗛𝗗 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀, 𝗟𝗦𝗕𝗘 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿-𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 designed to equip educators with the knowledge and skills to address sensitive issues in culturally responsive ways.

The Directorate Sindh Education Policy Commission (SEPC), led by Director 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗮𝗯 𝗔𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗸𝗵, actively participated in the “𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙂𝙀𝙎𝙄 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝟮𝟬𝟯𝟬.” The landmark event was organized by SELD, Govt of Sindh, in collaboration with 𝗣𝗖𝗘 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗔𝗤𝗘.

At the conference, SEPC emphasized moving from policy design to real, measurable impact. As an independent and neutral body, SEPC highlighted its core mission: developing Sindh's "𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆," monitoring sub-sectoral frameworks, and providing a transparent, unbiased picture for effective public accountability and leadership decisions. During the panel, SEPC highlighted critical steps for bridging the gap between policy design and ground reality:

🔹 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Seamlessly aligning attached departments' sub-policies with the provincial framework.
🔹 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁-𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Enhancing teacher development, integrated data systems, and school-specific budgeting.

The Research Team of the Directorate Sindh Education Policy Commission (SEPC), comprising 𝗠𝘀. 𝗦𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗳 𝗥𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗺 & 𝗠𝗿. 𝗡𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗵𝘇𝗮𝗱 had the privilege of meeting 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛. 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙖𝙛 𝘼𝙡𝙞 𝙍𝙖𝙟𝙥𝙪𝙩, 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙞𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣, 𝘽𝙤𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙆𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞 (𝘽𝙎𝙀𝙆), as part of its ongoing research study on examination reforms in School Education, Sindh. The visit aimed to understand current examination practices and gather institutional insights to support evidence-based policy recommendations for strengthening assessment systems in Sindh.

During the visit, the team visited the 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗴 and 𝗜𝗧 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, gaining first-hand insights into BSEK's digital examination systems and operational processes. This valuable exposure strengthened the research by showcasing how digital transformation is enhancing transparency, efficiency, and service delivery in examination management. Team SEPC sincerely thanks 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗳 𝗔𝗹𝗶 𝗥𝗮𝗷𝗽𝘂𝘁 for his outstanding support and facilitation and 𝗠𝗿. Analyzing 𝟲,𝟮𝟲𝟱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 from the 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗵 𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗹 (𝗦𝗝𝗣), our research found that 𝟲𝟳% 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙡𝙮 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙙 — highlighting the need to better align education, skills, and employment opportunities.

𝗔𝘁 𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗖, 𝘄𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗵'𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀. Through numerous research studies, we continue to generate evidence-based recommendations that support informed policymaking and sustainable education reforms. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵-𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

The Directorate Sindh Education Policy Commission (SEPC) was pleased to participate in STEDA's 1st Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Conference 2026, which brought together education leaders, policymakers, researchers, development partners, and practitioners committed to advancing quality education in Sindh. Team SEPC comprised on 𝗠𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗳 𝗥𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗺 (𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿) & 𝗠𝗿. 𝗡𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗵𝘇𝗮𝗱 (𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿) actively engaged with participants and educationists, creating valuable opportunities to exchange ideas on education policy, institutional reforms, and the future of teacher professional development.

These interactions also served as an important platform to introduce SEPC's important role and ongoing work. The esteemed guests and educationists showed keen interest in the Commission's role in strengthening evidence-based policymaking, particularly through the development of the 𝘿𝙧𝙖𝙛𝙩 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙝 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙮 & 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙧𝙖𝙛𝙩 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙝 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙮 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 (𝙎𝙀𝙋𝘾) 𝘽𝙞𝙡𝙡. The Sindh Education Policy Commission (SEPC-GoS), represented by 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 DrAftab Ahmed Shaikh, successfully participated in the high-level Stakeholder Reflection Meeting on Foundational Learning in Islamabad.

Chaired by 𝗗𝗚-𝗣𝗜𝗘 𝗗𝗿. 𝗭𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗤𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗿 and joined by the 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 and 𝗪𝗪𝗛𝗚𝗘 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀, the forum highly acknowledged SEPC's landmark 2-year progress. 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Addressing the critical strain on public resources, Dr. Shaikh emphasized that leveraging AI is an urgent, smart corridor to save time and upgrade our educational ecosystem to meet global standards.
