The Karachi Version

Apart from local businesses being passed down generations in Karachi, Pakistan here are some locks. They tell tales of time, something truly fascinating because the owner chose to keep them in a chronological order.

And on the other side of that glass window which shields you from the heat and hunger, stands a man that life hasn't been so kind to... and if you think it is your hard work that has brought you here, you are a fool; for it is your luck. He works hard too.

Doing things that matter - creating awareness in the middle of these gorgeous mountains.

The number of sign boards outside of shops saying NO to "UDHAAR" (a local term for lending goods on a promise of payment at a later date), is just too much. These signs are usually very catchy and reflect the shop keeper's sense of humor.

This particular sign reads:
Buying with cash is next to worship
Buying on credit is brings shame!

His face says it all too.

And then the lone wolf howled, at the bright blue moon... in despair
Such distances, such longing... a wound, damage beyond repair

Just another evening on the streets of Karachi, Pakistan and this famous kachori Wala. His delicious snacks have been a delicacy in the old city area for decades, where he fries scrumptiously hot Kachories to be consumed with in minutes...

Bey-asurr duaon sy jannatein nahi miltein!

One of the many road side waterfalls of the Gilgit Baltistan region. These beauties are seasonal, they pop up and disappear as winters and summers take turns. They line the skardu to Gilgit highway, which runs parallel to the mighty Indus river.

What these walls have heard,
Over decades of hurt...
A hundred stories of tears and of sweat,
Stored away in cement, shrouded in regrets!
