We're thrilled to share the heartwarming moments from our recent visit to Bint e Fatima Old Home on the occasion of International Day of Older Persons (1st October) which was celebrated on 1st October 2025.
Principal Madam Farida Yamin and Deputy Director Abdul Shafiq Solangi with SWTI team spent quality time with the elderly women, sharing laughter and creating unforgettable memories.
The Social Welfare Training Institute arranged a special lunch for our seniors, showcasing their appreciation and respect for the elderly.

The Social Welfare Training Institute, in collaboration with Community World Service Asia, successfully conducted a 2-Day Capacity Building Session on "Artificial Intelligence for Effective Communication" for officials and NGOs of the social welfare department.
Dates: Day 1 - 19th July 2025
Day 2 - 3rd September 2025
To equip participants with the knowledge and skills to harness the power of AI for effective communication in the social welfare sector.

This capacity-building session aimed to enhance the participants' understanding of AI-driven communication strategies, ultimately contributing to more effective social welfare services. Community World Service Asia's expertise in promoting quality and accountability standards in humanitarian relief complemented the program's objectives.
Such capacity-building programs can significantly enhance the social welfare sector's ability to leverage AI for improved communication and service delivery. Potential future initiatives could focus on exploring more AI applications, such as data analytics and impact evaluation tools, to further support social welfare organizations.

Thanks to Allah Almighty. The Social Welfare Training Institute invited the distinguished participants to honor us on the eve of Pakistan 78th Independence Day titled with Marka Ae Haq.
The day has been celebrated with orphans of different orphanages today. The chief guest Mr. Moazam Ali Mari sb honoured the event with his presence.

🌟Day 1 of 5-Day In-Service Training for Assistant Directors – Social Welfare Department, Sindh 🌟
The inaugural session of the 5-day in-service training for Assistant Directors of the Social Welfare Department, Sindh, commenced with great enthusiasm and purpose!
Madam Farida Yamin, Principal of the Social Welfare Training Institute, warmly welcomed all the participants, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and development in enhancing social welfare services across the province. Mr. Shafiq Ahmed Solangi, Deputy Director Training, provided a comprehensive overview of the job description for Assistant Directors. He highlighted their crucial role in planning, implementing, and supervising social welfare programs, ensuring effective service delivery to vulnerable communities.
Secretary Social Welfare Department Mr. Pervaiz Ahmed Seehar, in his insightful address, highlighted the critical role of the department in uplifting communities and encouraged the trainees to actively engage and apply their learnings for impactful social change.
Madam Saima Malik delivered an enlightening presentation, providing a comprehensive overview of the Social Welfare Department's initiatives, achievements, and ongoing projects aimed at supporting vulnerable populations across Sindh. Her briefing underscored the department's commitment to fostering a more inclusive and supportive society.

To promote disability awareness in order to develop a strong foundation of empathy and help break social barriers, an informative session on Down Syndrome and Autism was conducted on 3rd May, 2024 at Social Welfare Training Institute, Social Welfare Department, Government of Sindh. A team of experts from Ujala School delivered this session. Ms. Azka Hasan - Therapy Incharge and Ms. Malaika Nadeem - Assistant Psychologist spoke about Down Syndrome while Ms. Angabeen Adil - Behaviour Therapist talked about Autism. Students of the Special Education Department, University of Karachi and representatives of NGOs attended the session.

On 25th April 2024, an informative session on Gender Based Violence was organised at the Social Welfare Training Institute. Ms. Ramsha Qazi, GBV Expert delivered this interactive session by giving a detailed presentation. She used IEC material including flow charts and videos to enhance the understanding of participants. Officers of the Social Welfare Department, representatives of NGOs and students of Department of Social Work, Karachi University attended the session. Honourable Minister Social Welfare, worthy Secretary, Director General Social Welfare Department and Director General Sindh Child Protection Authority graced the event with their visit.

The informative session in accordance with the International Women’s Day was organized in the Social Welfare Training Institute, On 14th March, 2024 Ms. Nuzhat Shireen, first Chairperson of Commission on the Status of Women spoke about “Pro Women Laws in Pakistan” and Ms. Renuka Swami, Program Analyst-UNFPA Sindh delivered her interactive lecture on “Gender Equality and Empowering Women”. Officers of the Social Welfare Department and representatives of NGOs attended the session. As per the feedback of the participants, very important and valuable information was shared by both subject matter experts. Mr. Aamir Waheed Khawaja, Director Karachi Division also graced the session with his presence.
