Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, Parliamentary Secretary for Commerce, along with a business delegation, was received by Secretary TDAP today at TDAP Headquarters, Karachi.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on creating an enabling environment for technology transfer from China in key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, minerals & mining, electric vehicles (EVs) and EV infrastructure, and information technology (IT). It was noted that several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are under consideration with Chinese businesses for joint ventures, technology transfer, and eventual local manufacturing in Pakistan. The Parliamentary Secretary emphasized that these initiatives will not only strengthen bilateral economic ties but also contribute to Pakistan’s industrial modernization and job creation.
It was agreed to maintain momentum in B2B linkages and close engagement for upcoming B2B activities between Pakistan and China, particularly in connection with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. In this connection, the concerned Chinese businesses would be invited to attend the 2nd Globe Summit on e-commerce being organized by TDAP later this year in Islamabad.
