Pakistan Muslim League Functional Sindh Secretary General Sardar Abdul Rahim Demands People-Friendly Federal Budget 2026-27
Karachi: Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) Sindh Secretary General Sardar Abdul Rahim has demanded that the Federal Budget 2026-27 be made truly people-friendly, farmer-friendly, and business-friendly, stating that a budget should not merely be a collection of figures but a practical solution to public problems.
He said that in the current economic situation, controlling inflation, unemployment, and poverty should be the top priority of the budget so that relief can be provided to the common people. He further demanded that the burden of electricity, gas, and petroleum prices on the public be reduced and that reforms be introduced in the tax system instead of imposing new taxes.
Sardar Abdul Rahim stated that agriculture is the backbone of the national economy; therefore, farmers should be provided with affordable electricity, quality fertilizers, and easy agricultural loans. He emphasized that special funds should be allocated for the promotion of agriculture and increasing agricultural production.
He said that creating new employment opportunities for the youth is the need of the hour and that effective measures should be taken for the promotion of industry, information technology, and exports.
He further demanded a significant increase in allocations for the education and health sectors in the federal budget. Referring to Karachi, he said that the city is the economic hub of the country and cannot be deprived of basic facilities. He called for a special development package and infrastructure funds for Karachi.
Sardar Abdul Rahim also stressed the need for allocating special resources for the development of rural Sindh and other underdeveloped areas.
He stated that only a people-friendly, farmer-friendly, and business-friendly budget can bring economic stability to the country. He urged the government to prioritize public interest, economic justice, and provincial rights in the budget-making process.
