MoU Signing between Sindh Energy Efficiency & Conservation Agency (SEECA) and NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi

Karachi, Pakistan – On 11th February 2026, Sindh Energy Efficiency & Conservation Agency (SEECA),Energy Department,Government of Sindh and NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish Energy Efficient Appliances Testing Laboratories and promote Green Star/Energy Efficiency compliance in Sindh.
This collaboration will enhance energy efficiency implementation in Sindh. Under this collaboration, NED University—through its academic departments and the ASURE Centre, will provide laboratory space, technical expertise, research support, and operational management of the facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and technical integrity. The initiative aims to reduce electricity demand, improve system reliability, lower energy costs, and support climate change mitigation efforts.
Distinguished participants at the signing included senior leadership from NED University: Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tufail (Vice Chancellor), Syed Ghazanfar Hussain (Registrar), Dr. Saad Qazi (Dean, ECE), Deans of CPL, CPE, and ASC, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mohsin Aman (Director, ASURE Centre), and Ms. Farwa (Media Coordinator)
Distinguished participants from SEECA: Dr. Muhammad Atif Jalib (PAS), Managing Director, Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed (General Manager), Mr. Noman Ahmed, and Engr. Muaaz Soomro.

Today, MD SEECA Dr. Muhammad Atif Jalib, alongwith GM SEECA, Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed, chaired a meeting regarding the upcoming projects of SEECA with Enerzone Engineering Services, an Energy Audit firm. The Director, Engr. Muhammad Akbar, accompanied by the Manager of Business Development, Muhammad Babar, attended this meeting. The session primarily focused on discussing energy efficiency audits and fire audits, reinforcing SEECA's commitment to enhancing energy sustainability and safety in collaboration with NEECA-registered Energy auditing firms. A commitment to take crucial steps towards a more efficient and secure future was made.
