Day 2 of “پنجاب دی دھرتی تے لون دا میلا” at Salt Village Khewra witnessed enthusiastic participation from distinguished guests, officials, tourism representatives, industry leaders, and members of the business community, further strengthening the spirit of cultural promotion and regional development.

Among the notable guests in attendance were Mr. Majid Meshki, Cultural Consulate, Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Islamabad Pakistan; Mr. Muhammad Rauf Raja, Focal Person, Prime Minister’s Youth Program on Tourism & Hospitality; Ch. Farukh Altaf, MNA Jhelum; Mr. Wahid Arjmand Zia, Managing Director, Punjab Mine & Minerals Department; Mr. Sajid Mehmood Mughal, Head – National Conferences & Tourism Events Committee and Executive Committee Member, Pakistan Association of Tour Operators; Mr. Dost Ali Jan, Acting President, Rawalpindi Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industries; Mr. Asif Javid, Vice President, Rawalpindi Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industries; Mr. Ali Raza Hasnain, Executive Director, COTHM College Dubai; Mr. Hanif Akhtar, Regional Head North, COTHM; and Project Manager Malik Naeem, PMDC.

The event was hosted by Mr. Khurram Aftab Dar, Regional Director, Punjab Small Industries Corporation, Rawalpindi and Ms. Sadia, Project Director, Salt Village Khewra who welcomed the guests and highlighted the importance of promoting Punjab’s cultural heritage, traditional craftsmanship, and tourism potential through collaborative initiatives and community engagement.

The visiting guests appreciated the arrangements, artisan displays, traditional craftsmanship, and the efforts being made to promote tourism, culture, and entrepreneurship through the platform of Salt Village Khewra. Their participation added great value to the event and reflected strong support for initiatives aimed at preserving and promoting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and local industries.

Students along with Mr. Salman Waheed from the National College of Arts visited the Metal Crafts Artisans Village to explore avenues for collaboration in product development and artisan engagement. The visit provided an enriching opportunity to interact with skilled craftsmen, observe traditional metalworking techniques, and exchange ideas on developing innovative, market-oriented products while preserving the authenticity of traditional craftsmanship.

The engagement served as a meaningful platform for creative learning, knowledge sharing, and strengthening academia–industry linkages to support the sustainable growth and promotion of Pakistan’s rich craft heritage.

An insightful Awareness Session on the *European Regulatory Landscape & Emerging Requirements* was held on 12th May 2026 under the leadership of Mubeen Ilahi, Managing Director Punjab Small Industries Corporation.

The session was attended by prominent stakeholders including Yulia Bazhenova, Dr. Nabeel Amin, Dr. Tanveer Hussain, Sabih Zaka, Khawaja Muhammad Imran, Salman Zaheer, Umer Nawaz, Adeel Nizam, along with representatives from SMEDA, EPCCD, and Labour & Human Resource Department Punjab.

The session focused on evolving EU regulations related to sustainability, traceability, compliance, due diligence, ESG reporting, circularity, chemical safety, and export readiness for Pakistani SMEs and exporters. Experts emphasized the importance of evidence-based compliance systems, digital traceability, responsible sourcing, and sustainable manufacturing practices to strengthen Pakistan’s export competitiveness in international markets.

The discussion also highlighted collaborative strategies to support SMEs in adapting to emerging global standards and enhancing Pakistan’s position in sustainable global value chains.

Day 1 of “پنجاب دی دھرتی تے لون دا میلا” at Salt Village Khewra concluded on a successful note with active participation and widespread appreciation from visitors, officials, and exhibitors.

The event showcased a wide range of products, innovations, and developments introduced over the past year. Handcrafted items and newly developed products were displayed, reflecting the skill, creativity, and dedication of local artisans and craftsmen which was briefed by the Project Director Ms. Sadia. Artisans from various workshops also exhibited their products, which were well received and highly appreciated by those in attendance. The Regional Director, Mr. Khurram Aftab Dar also participated in the event.

A chefs’ competition served as a key highlight of the day, adding further engagement to the event. Assistant Commissioner Pind Dadan Khan, Ms. Ayesha, participated in the competition as a representative of the Commissioner and expressed strong appreciation for the arrangements, creativity, and overall ex*****on of the event.

The event was appreciated by all present and effectively highlighted Punjab’s rich cultural heritage, craftsmanship, and growing entrepreneurial potential.

A distinguished German documentary team comprising Marita Neher (Documentary Filmmaker & Director), Dorothea Reiker (Assistant Director), Christopher Bannat (Technical Assistant), and Hamza Ameer (Producer) is currently undertaking a documentary project highlighting the diverse landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and traditional identity of Pakistan.

The initiative aims to present Pakistan’s historical depth, artistic traditions, and cultural diversity to an international audience through meaningful visual storytelling and documentary filmmaking.

During the 135th Board Meeting of Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC), Provincial Minister of Punjab for Industries, Commerce and Investment, Chaudhary Shafay Hussain, Managing Director PSIC, Mubeen Ilahi, Deputy Managing Director, members of the Board of Directors, senior directors, and relevant officers convened to discuss and review key strategic matters related to industrial development, institutional reforms, and future growth initiatives of the Corporation.

The meeting was attended by the Board of Directors, senior directors, and relevant officers, where key strategic agendas concerning industrial development, financial reforms, infrastructure projects, revision of master plans, auction schedules of redundant properties, and future growth initiatives of PSIC were thoroughly reviewed and discussed. Important proposals aimed at strengthening industrialization, improving financial governance, enhancing Small Industrial Estates, and facilitating investment across Punjab were also presented for consideration and approval.

The meeting reaffirmed PSIC’s commitment towards sustainable industrial growth, institutional reforms, and economic development across the province.

Director QEC Dr. Farhan Gillani from USP Multan visited the Handicraft Development Center, Multan, for a post-project exhibition. During the event, trainees showcased their impressive work, and certificates were distributed to celebrate their completion. To honor the craftsmanship behind the projects, shields were awarded to the artisans in recognition of their dedicated efforts.
