At the heart of Lahore stands the historic Sher Singh Baradari—a symbol of Sikh-era grandeur built by Maharaja Sher Singh.

Under the visionary Magnificent Punjab initiative of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, and with the guidance of Senior Minister Punjab, Maryam Aurangzeb, this iconic monument is set to be revitalized.

The project focuses on restoring original fresco paintings, conserving intricate woodwork, and reviving traditional lime plaster craftsmanship—ensuring historical authenticity. A dedicated picture gallery will also be established, transforming the site into a vibrant cultural space that preserves and celebrates Lahore’s rich heritage.

*Magnificient Punjab Uncharted: Where Every Horizon hold Adventure*

There’s a moment; just before the wind lifts the balloon, before the engine roars across desert tracks, before the water breaks beneath your jet ski, when Punjab feels untouched, almost undiscovered.

On the quiet edge of Lahore, where the city's old necropolis still breathes the memory of
empire, rises the tomb of Ali Mardan Khan , engineer, governor, and one of the Mughal
court's most remarkable builders. Octagonal in form and crowned by a commanding
dome, the mausoleum stands as a solemn reminder of a man whose genius shaped
canals, gardens, and cities across the empire.
Time, however, spares no monument. Today, through careful conservation and patient
craftsmanship, the Tourism, Archaeology & Museums Department is restoring the
dignity of this rare Mughal structure — cleaning its frescoed arches, strengthening its
foundations, and reopening its story to those willing to pause and listen.
For in monuments such as these, history is not merely remembered, it quietly reveals the
Magnificent Punjab.
