Meeting Held to Review Progress on Punjab Climate Change Action Plan 2024
Under the chairmanship of the Ms. Nadia Shafiq - Senior Chief (Env. & CC), P&D Board, a key meeting was conducted to review the implementation progress of the Punjab Climate Change Action Plan 2024.
The session brought together representatives from various departments to assess departmental contributions and align development schemes with the Plan’s strategic climate goals.

Air Quality Roadmap 2024–2027 | Overview Meeting Held at P&D Board
A overview briefing meeting on Air Quality Roadmap 2024-27 chaired by Ms. Nadia Shafiq - Sr. Chief Environment P&DB / DPC PGDP was held at P&D Complex. Briefing agenda included:
✅ Automation of AQMS and ETS
✅ Emission standards for motorbikes
✅ Crop burning mitigation strategies
✅ Commercial Vehicle Inspection expansion
✅ Fuel quality testing rollout and other.
📈 With Lahore’s air quality challenges persisting in 2025, the meeting emphasized review of stronger data systems, integrated monitoring, and real-time public dashboards.

Restructuring Meeting of Punjab Green Development Program (PGDP)
The Planning & Development Board, Punjab, convened a key meeting, under the chairmanship of Ms Saba Asghar Ali - the Chief Environment / DPC PGDP, P&D Board, to engage with the World Bank Mission on the restructuring of the Punjab Green Development Program. The mission was led by Mr. Ahmad Imran Aslam, Senior Environmental Specialist and Task Team Leader (TTL), World Bank.
Representatives from key provincial departments and partner agencies attended the session to deliberate on the revised implementation framework and finalize restructuring parameters to enhance the program’s alignment with Punjab’s green development priorities.

Secretary P&D Board / PC PGDP, Dr. Asif Tufail, chaired the 10th Program Steering Committee (PSC) meeting of the Punjab Green Development Program (PGDP), during which the agenda of the meeting was formally approved.
The meeting featured a comprehensive review of the Program’s progress, including the implementation of decisions from the 9th PSC meeting, the finalization of the Green Financing Strategy, and the proposed restructuring of the Program.
Representatives from relevant departments attended the session, contributing to a collaborative and informed discussion on these critical matters.

Meeting with World Bank Technical Support Mission on Punjab Green Development Program
A meeting with the World Bank’s Technical Support Mission chaired by Member ID, P&DB - Dr. Muhammad Abid Bodla, was held at P&D Complex. The mission, led by Senior Environmental Specialist and Task Team Leader (TTL) Mr. Ahmad Imran Aslam, focused on reviewing the progress of the Punjab Green Development Program (PGDP) and finalizing key restructuring parameters.
