The Directorate of IPRE (Central), Lahore on grounds of IPR health and safety standards violation, forfeited cosmetics (Lip pencil) of brand HUDA BEAUTY imported from China with an estimated manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of over $152,064 valuing Rs 43.19 million.

On a complaint by the right holder, the Directorate of IPRE (Central), Lahore forfeited counterfeit cosmetics from China of brand Maybelline New York with an estimated manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of over $23,040 valuing Rs 6.54 million.

Director IPRE Central Ms. Beelam Ramzan attended conference arranged by Brands Protection in collaboration with Unilever Pakistan in Avari, Karachi. The conference aimed to sensitise awareness about counterfeit products, invited view point of the Directorate General IPRE about Customs practice and the brand owners proposed a joint dialogue and task force to combat infringing/ counterfeit goods.

Madam Beelam Ramzan Director Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement Central attended a seminar in Karachi at the Pakistan Customs Academy arranged by OSIRIS and REACT group of consultancy (Pvt)Ltd in collaboration with IPRE South. The event introduced awareness and alert about brand owner’s authentic and counterfeit goods.

Reckitt Benckiser join hands with IPRE Customs

Mr. Mufassir Shah, Brand Protection Manager, Reckitt Benckiser Pakistan met with Director General IPRE Customs, Mr. Muhammad Sadiq and Director Ms. Beelam Ramzan to discuss means to curb import of counterfeit products of right holder "Reckitt Benckiser" under Customs IPRE Rules.

The Directorate Intellectual Property Rights (Central) Enforcement conducted a workshop on "IPR Awareness to Combat Counterfeit and Infringing Goods."

Deputy Director, IPRE Ms. Shehla Saleem Mughal briefed the officers about the importance to curb the import of counterfeit goods through effective enforcement activities. Mr. M Haris, CEO, Fair Services & Consultancy and Mr Yaseen Haleem, Manager, OSIRIS Consultancy (Pvt) Ltd, Lahore also shared their expertise about detection of counterfeit products.
