Indian pangolin has the distribution in Asia with a range extending into two regions of Pakistan. The species can be distinguished from other Asian pangolins by the size of its scales, which reach a considerably larger size than scales of the Chinese, Sunda and Philippine pangolins. Indian Pangolin is fossorial and plays a critical role in maintaining healthy ecosystems by consuming insects and serving as natural pest controllers.
Lahore Zoo marked the World Pangolin Day for public awareness. Students from Crescent Model Higher Secondary School participated in the activity. Visitors were given information on the ecological importance of the species, threats in the wild and its Protected status under Punjab Wildlife Act.
