World Bank technical mission under the Punjab Inclusive Cities Program visited PMDFC today to review progress and discuss key areas including the status of IPF consultancies, procurement and fiduciary matters. Discussions focused on strengthening coordination, ensuring timely implementation, updates on procurement and addressing key procedural aspects to maintain momentum under the program. The mission team included Suhaib Rashid and Seemab, while Carlo Alberto & Qurat Ul Ain Hadi and Syed Wajahat Ali joined the session via video link.
From PMDFC, the meeting was attended by Syed Zahid Aziz (MD PMDFC), Mahmood Masood Tamana (GM ID), Adnan Nisar Khan (GM Engineering), Nauman Akhtar (SPO FM), Syed Aamir Mahmood Shah (SPO GIS), Ammar Anwar, PO Procurement and Abid Ali (PO IT).

A meeting was held between Chairman BOD, PMDFC, Mr. Immad Iftikhar Malik, and Mr. Marco Arena from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to further strengthen collaboration on urban infrastructure development in Punjab.
The discussion focused on advancing the proposed partnership for investments in sewerage, stormwater drainage, and water supply systems in selected cities, along with exploring financing mechanisms and alignment with ongoing initiatives of PMDFC.

The Deputy Commissioner Chiniot chaired a coordination meeting with PMDFC to review progress on schemes under the Punjab Inclusive Cities Program (PICP). A detailed briefing was presented to the ADCG, ADCR, and officers from WASA and the Municipal Committee, highlighting the current status and implementation progress. PMDFC team members, including Ms. Rukhsana Shahid (SPO), Mr. Shabbir (PO), Mr. Awais (RPO), and Dr. Nabeela Firdous (RA), participated in the meeting. Emphasizing preparedness for the upcoming monsoon season, the DC directed that the stormwater drainage scheme be expedited on priority. PMDFC shared that the PC-I is in its final stages and will be submitted to the World Bank for approval shortly. The DC also instructed the ADCR to share the status of all state land parcels with PMDFC to facilitate smooth project implementation.

Project team of PMDFC of Construction / Establishment of 2Nos. Material Recovery Facilities Project visited GWMC office in Gujranwala and had meeting with newly appointed CEO of GWMC Abdul Razaq Dogar. The Project Manager Ahsan Bela explained components of the project and the project updated status. The require site electricity connection and, site clearance from dumped waste from suthra Punjab contractor were discussed in detail.

A Pre-Proposal Meeting was held at the PMDFC Head Office regarding the hiring of an Engineering Consultancy Firm under the Punjab Inclusive Cities Program (PICP). The assignment covers the design and supervision of water supply, sewerage, and storm water drainage infrastructure in selected cities under the Punjab Inclusive Cities Program, including Ahmedpur East, Arif Wala, Chiniot, Chishtian, Haroonabad, Jampur, Jatoi, Khanpur, Mandi Bahauddin, Pakpattan, Rajanpur, Sadiqabad, Samundri, Shujabad, while Kasur & Chakwal are under the PPP mode. The session focused on addressing key queries and providing necessary clarifications to participating firms, enabling them to prepare comprehensive and responsive proposals in line with the RFP requirements.
The meeting was attended by Syed Zahid Aziz (MD, PMDFC / PD, PICP), Adnan Nisar Khan (GM Engineering, PMDFC / DPD, PICP), and Zohaib Butt (GM/SPO Procurement), Rukhsana Shahid, SPO ESM, and Nauman Akhtar, SPO FM, Syed Aamir Mahmood Shah, SPO GIS, Ammar Anwar, Hamza Tariq POs Procurement who contributed their technical insights, ensuring that all procedural and technical aspects were comprehensively discussed and clarified. Representatives from the Planning & Development Board, Punjab and the Finance Department, Punjab, also marked their attendance.

A productive meeting on “Identification of PPP Projects for ADP 2026–27” was held under the supervision of Ms. Asia Gul Special Secretory (DEV) LG&CDD, with participation from PMDFC, Mr. Moeen Ud Din Sheikh (PPP Expert) and Mr. Usman Gull (DM IT). The session focused on identifying and prioritizing viable Public-Private Partnership initiatives to support sustainable development goals for the upcoming fiscal year.

Sessions highlighted the importance of investment-ready solutions, corporate responsibility, and policy alignment, while reinforcing water as a fundamental human right linked to public health, equity, and sustainability.
