Under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a province-wide zero-waste operation has been launched for Eid-ul-Adha cleanliness.

Special sanitation teams, vehicles, camps, and complaint centers are working across Punjab to ensure a clean environment during Eid days.

Respected Madam Beenish Sahi, Director General, Local Government & Community Development Department, visited the Commissioner Office and DLG Office, Rawalpindi Division.

The Director and XEN Local Government briefed the Hon’ble DG on ongoing government initiatives and development projects.

Madam DG directed all concerned officers to ensure effective implementation of ongoing initiatives, with special emphasis on resolving issues related to the CRMS Mobile Application. She also emphasized strict action on negative reports received from Monitoring Teams and directed timely completion of all ongoing schemes.

She also held a meeting with the Worthy Commissioner, Rawalpindi, to discuss issues faced by Local Government staff. The Worthy Commissioner assured full cooperation for their timely resolution.

The Office of Director General, Local Government & Community Development Department Punjab, had the pleasure of hosting students and faculty from the School of Governance and Society, University of Management and Technology, for an interactive academic visit aimed at providing practical insight into the local government system in Punjab.

During the session, participants were briefed on the functioning, structure, and financial devolution framework under the Punjab Local Government Act, 2025, along with key initiatives in governance, decentralization, and public service delivery. The visit served as a valuable platform for bridging academic learning with practical governance experience, reaffirming the commitment of the DG Office, LG&CD Punjab, towards knowledge-sharing and constructive engagement with future public policy professionals.
