Visit of Honorable Secretary Climate Change, Forestry, Environment & Wildlife to FDC Sawmill Mansehra

On April 24, 2025, the Honorable Secretary Climate Change, Forestry, Environment & Wildlife paid a visit to the FDC Sawmill in Mansehra. During the visit, the Secretary inspected various sections of the unit, including the furniture showroom, and was briefed on the manufacturing processes and operational activities of the facility. The achievements and contributions of the unit were also highlighted during the briefing.

The Secretary CCFE&W highly appreciated the quality and craftsmanship of the furniture produced by FDC Sawmill, particularly the supplies made to various Government and Public Sector institutions. The efforts of the team were commended, especially in maintaining high manufacturing standards.

In the course of discussions, the challenges and proposals aimed at enhancing the productivity and financial sustainability of the Sawmill were discussed upon which the Honorable Secretary directed to submit comprehensive, viable, and feasible proposal.

On the directions of hon;ble Pir Musavir Khan SACM for CCFEW Department KP , Mr. Rehan Gul Khattak , Managing Director, Forest Development Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa visited different operational units of FDC in Hazara Forest Region including
Timber Market Goharabad , Hazara Doors Havellian , Regional Headquarters Abbottabad , Furniture Factory & Showroom Sawmill Mansehra . Mr. M. Iqbal GM(Fin; &Admin;) & Mr. Matiullah Manager Marketing accompanied him. Mr Ayaz Mehmood MFO , Mr. Musamir Shah Manger FDC Industrial Units briefed over different activities and operations in the units . He appreciated the endeavours of regional formation and the quality of furniture manufactured by FDC for supply to different Govt & Public Sector Institutions. He urged all the Govt Departments in KP to purchase furniture from the FDC under G2G arrangements.
He also discussed feasibility of productive utilization of commercial and industrial assets under alternate financing mode like PPP, JV or long term lease in public interest. The Managing Director planted a Chir pine sapling in the premises of Timber Market Goharabad as a token of his commitment towards greener Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He issued necessary instructions for improvements & strengthening of the organisation.

The Honorable Special Advisor to Cheif Minister Mr. Pir Musawir Shah Ghazi visited FDC Sawmill Mansehra on 16/02/2025 where different sections of the unit were visited by him. His goodself was warmly welcomed by Manager Sawmill Mr. Mussamer Shah alongwith Mr. Ayaz Mehmood MFO Abbottabad & Mr. Waqar Ahmed DFM Kaghan. Breifing on overall achievments of the unit & its working procedure were given by Manager Sawmill. Also apprised his goodself on detail of orders both running & new as well as revenue generated so far by the unit which was highly appreciated. Fruitful instructions were imparted for further improvement & emphasized on ensuring good quality furniture. On the occasion the honorable Special Advisor also planted Deodar plant during his visit.
