3. Restoration of TAX rebate

The newly elected Cabinet of the Teaching Staff Association (TSA), Islamia College Peshawar, for the year 2025–26 took the oath of office. The oath was administered by the Vice Chancellor, Islamia College Peshawar, and Patron-in-Chief of the TSA, Prof. Dr. Ahmad ur Rehman Saljooqi.
The Vice Chancellor congratulated the newly elected Cabinet and pledged full cooperation in all matters pertaining to the faculty, students, and the institution.
Mr. Salah Uddin, President of the TSA, in his brief address, thanked the academic community for the trust they had shown in the new Cabinet and reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his election manifesto. Subsequently, he formally assumed charge of the office.

The General Body of the Teaching Staff Association (TSA) of Islamia College Peshawar has conditionally suspended its strike in the best interest of students and the institution. This strike aimed to secure a peaceful and conducive educational environment, allowing teaching, research, and administrative duties to be conducted smoothly. Unfortunately, a few disruptive elements-many of whom were external have jeopardized this environment, causing instability and disorder within the university.
In its recent meeting, the TSA General Body presented both immediate and long-term demands to restore peace and uphold order in the university.
These demands include:
Immediate Demands :
1. Enforcing a strict ban on the entry of unauthorized external individuals onto campus.
2. Filing FIRs against those involved in assaulting faculty members, damaging public property, and obstructing official duties.
3. Initiating disciplinary actions against students who violated university regulations.
4. Reversing the unlawful orders that reinstated certain expelled students.
Long-Term Demands :
1. Developing a comprehensive strategy to counter disruptive groups and prevent future incidents of unrest and violence.
2. Addressing genuine atudents concerns and involving them in constructive extracurricular activities.
Today, the university administration has implemented the TSA's immediate demands by issuing various directives and notifications. While fulfilling the long-term demands will require additional time, the administration has accepted these demands in principle and has issued a written commitment to this effect.
In light of these developments, the TSA has conditionally suspended its strike and resumed normal operations on campus. However, the TSA will continue to closely monitor the situation to ensure a permanent and lasting resolution to these issues.
Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has established a committee to conduct a thorough inquiry into the matter, with the committee's convener already meeting with TSA representatives for an initial consultation. The TSA will provide this committee with detailed recommendations, prioritizing the interests of faculty and students.
Additionally, a Jirga of local elders has reached out to TSA to mediate a peaceful and constructive resolution. In response, TSA has formed a committee consisting of Dr. Fazal Wahid, Mr. Awal Saced, Dr. Asad Ali, Mr. Izharullah, and Dr. Adeel and Mr. Muhammad Zubair. Updates on the outcomes of this council's deliberations will be shared with all and sundry.
The Teaching Staff Association extends its gratitude to all faculty members, students, their families, and community and political leaders for their support and cooperation. TSA reiterates its commitment to a peaceful environment essential for learning, which remains the fundamental right and core interest of thousands of students at Islamia College Peshawar.
