کیا ہُوا اس طویل رشتہِ تسلسل، سلسلہِ مسلسل کو کیوں یوں یکدم اچانک سکتِہ میں آگیا ہے۔

یوں یکدم تو سکتِہ میں آیا نہ ہو گا پہلے مدھم ہوکر پُکارا ہو گا پِھر سسکیوں میں دھیمے دھیمے ہی سکتِہ میں گیا ہو گا۔

کیا ہُوا اس حَسِین شوروغل کے دھن کو,

کیوں ہے وہ اِس بھیانک خاموشی کی لپٹ میں کیسے اسے چُپ نے گھیرا ہُوا ہے کیوں اِس پر سنّاٹوں کے سیاہ بادل جمے ہوے ہیں کب اس پر برسینگے یہ سیاہ بادل چیخ بن کر,

کب یہ شور اِس چُپ کے بجلی سے کڑک کر گرجے گا
کب یہاں بے تکلف برسات ہوگی۔
