Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar today spoke with the Foreign Minister of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, HH Faisal Bin Farhan.

The DPM/FM apprised him on the current situation in the region following last night Indian attacks and Pakistan’s subsequent response.

Saudia FM expressed condolences over the loss of innocent lives and appreciated Pakistan’s measured and restrained response. Both leaders agreed to maintain close contact.

The Government of Pakistan remained firmly committed to defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

FM Takeshi expressed deep concern over the evolving situation and conveyed condolences over the loss of innocent civilian lives. He emphasized that both sides should exercise restraint, allowing dialogue and diplomacy to achieve peace and stability in the region.

DPM/FM briefed his Italian counterpart on India’s blatant act of aggression and violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty through the use of standoff weapons, targeting civilian populations across the international border. He strongly condemned India’s cowardly attacks, which resulted in the martyrdom of civilians, including women and children.

DPM/FM described India’s actions as a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and international law, which have jeopardized regional peace and security and brought the two nuclear-armed states closer to a major conflict.

Foreign Minister Tajani expressed his deepest sympathies for the loss of lives in Pakistan. He emphasized the urgent need to return to dialogue in order to de-escalate the increasingly tense situation in the region.

He underscored that Pakistan had shown restraint despite the fact that Indian attacks were in violation of the UN Charter, jeopardizing regional peace and security. He expressed Government’s resolve to defend the sovereignty of Pakistan.

The two leaders also discussed bilateral relations. FM Espen Barth Eide acknowledged the positive contributions of the Pakistani diaspora to the socio-economic fabric of Norway. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and remain in close contact over the evolving situation.
