Peshawar Political and Economic Section Chief Kapil Gupta and Islamabad Political Officer Kelsey Orr met with leadership of HBK Group to discuss opportunities for enhancing commercial engagement and strengthening business ties between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the United States.
Discussions with Mr. Amir Khan, Director of HBK Blankets, and Dr. Muhib Afridi, Chief Executive Officer of HBK Hypermarket, focused on expanded sourcing of U.S. agricultural and food products for HBK Hypermart stores in Peshawar, potential franchises and U.S. brand expansion to Pakistan, and investment opportunities in the United States.
We are committed to supporting partnerships that create mutual economic benefits between our countries.

U.S. Consul General Tom Eckert, Public Affairs Officer Rob Tate, and Political and Economic Section Chief Kapil Gupta met with the Consulate Peshawar Youth Council for fantastic discussions on entrepreneurship, innovation, and education.
The Youth Council toured the new Lincoln Corner at the U.S. Education Foundation Pakistan (USEFP) and learned about the free expert academic advising available to all prospective students who dream of studying in the United States at EducationUSA. They also toured an art exhibition on America 250 and learned about our early history, independence, and fundamental values of liberty and democracy.

Political and Economic Section Chief Kapil Gupta, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevent (CDC) Senior Public Health Advisor Brian Wheeler, and Public Affairs Officer Rob Tate were honored to meet with Asif Sherazi, Country Director of Islamic Relief, and his dedicated team to discuss their important work providing employability skills training, workforce development, community-based entrepreneurship, and social cohesion programs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and across Pakistan.

U.S. Consul General Tom Eckert, Public Affairs Officer Rob Tate, and Political and Economic Section Chief Kapil Gupta met with Hameed Ullah Khan, coordinator of the Migrant Resource Centre Peshawar.
Hameed Ullah works to inform vulnerable communities about the dangers of migrant smuggling, trafficking in persons, irregular migration, and cybercrime. He is a recent alumnus of the International Visitor Leadership Program on "Trafficking in Persons: Prevention and Mitigation."
We are proud to support his important work, which makes us all safer and protects those most at risk.

U.S. Consul General Tom Eckert met with National Incubation Center Peshawar leadership Bilal Farooq Khan, Asim Ishaq Khan, and Farhad Shafqat Qayyum, along with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa entrepreneurs and startup executives Esha Zeb, Mashaal Khan, and Fatima Khan, coordinator at the Lincoln Corner NUST. They had an excellent conversation on commercial diplomacy, U.S. technology, workforce development, education, and investment opportunities.
Many around the table were alumni of U.S. exchange programs. We are proud to support Khyber Pakhtunkhwa entrepreneurs and innovators through exchange programs and partnerships that bring prosperity and opportunity to both our countries.

U.S. Consul General Tom Eckert was inspired to meet with Samar Khan, an accomplished internationally renowned athlete from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and alumna of the U.S. global sports mentorship program.
Samar is building on her exchange experience to create opportunities for young people to work together, explore, and get outside. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has such natural beauty and potential for tourism that will connect people with nature and each other, driving economic growth that benefits both our countries.
