CITY PATROL PESHAWAR WILL SERVE AS FIRST RESPONDERS: IGP KP MR. NASIR KHAN DURRANI

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has taken another initiative for Public Safety and Security. Functions of City Patrol are: First responders to all Calls, Hot pursuit of Criminals, Prevention of Street Crimes, Surveillance of anti-social elements, Door-knocking of Persons Released from Jails & Proclaimed Offenders (POs), Snap Checking, Information Gathering, Public Facilitation & Help, Responding to 15 calls & SOS Alerts and coordination with Emergency Services.

City Patrol will respond to any situation within 7-10 minutes. Initially, City Patrol has been started in Peshawar City and Peshawar Cantonment which will later on be extended to other urban cities of the province.

City Patrol are equipped with modern gadgets and tools including Mobile Tablet, Security Cameras, Wireless communication and Trackers. City Patrol App has access to Identity Verification System (IVS) to check genuineness of CNIC, Vehicle Verification System (VVS) to identify unregistered and stolen vehicles / motorcycles, Criminal Record Verification (CRV) to check criminal history of a person, Incident Tagging to capture details of any incident, Surveillance of persons released from Jails, Tenants Information System (TIS) and Traffic Management etc.

Proper Monitoring mechanism is in place by establishing a separate Command Desk at Command & Control Center Peshawar to monitor the activities of the City Patrol. The location and movement of each City Patrol are recorded, Live streaming of the City Patrol and First Responders are monitored and recorded, Snap Checking is also recorded and instructions are communicated from the command desk.
