500-KV NTDC Grid Station Lahore (Sheikhupura) is situated at 7-kM Sharaqpur Road Sheikhupura. Commissioned on 05.06.1992, this Grid Station has 2400-MVA transmission capacity with 04 No. 600-MVA, 500/220-KV Auto-Transformer Banks. Being fed through 500-kV Bhikhi T/Line, 500-kV Nokhar T/Line and 02 no. 500-kV HVDC Converter Station-1 and HVDC Converter Station-2 T/Lines along with 02 No. 37-MVA and 01 No. 20-MVA 500-kV Shunt Reactor Banks. It is feeding 04 No. 220/132-kV 160-MVA Auto-Transformers, 08 No. 220-kV Transmission Lines and 10 No. 132-kV Transmission Lines. 500-kV and 220-kV systems have one and a half circuit breaker scheme whereas 132KV system has single circuit breaker double bus bar scheme.
This Grid Station is the major source of feeding for Lahore and Sheikhupura cities.
