🇬🇧 Forest Bathing and Wellbeing in Nature: new opportunities for the Azores 🌿
The Regional Directorate of Tourism organised the seminar “Forest Therapy Azores – From the Forest to Wellbeing”, in partnership with the Forest Therapy Hub, bringing together stakeholders, professionals and organisations linked to tourism.
The event provided an opportunity to gain a better understanding of Forest Bathing as a wellness experience in nature and to reflect on the potential of this and other such experiences for the Azores.
In a destination where nature is one of the key elements of identity and differentiation, this offering can help to enhance and diversify the tourist experience, create new opportunities for stakeholders, generate value throughout the year and help to mitigate seasonality.
The training of professionals, the creation of authentic, high-quality experiences, the link to trends such as slow tourism, and the challenge of growing without overcrowding were among the topics discussed.
The initiative forms part of the work that the Regional Tourism Directorate has been carrying out to develop the ‘Wellbeing’ product, as set out in the Azores’ Strategic and Tourism Marketing Plan.
Slow down, feel and experience nature in a different way. 💚
