The manipulation of information, disinformation, and fake news are weakening public trust and harming our information ecosystems.

Today, World Press Freedom Day, is an opportunity to reaffirm freedom of expression and strengthen collaboration among journalism, human rights actors, and society as a whole.

In this spirit, we present the project “Combating hate speech and fake news targeting the LGBTQ+ population,” funded by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) and implemented by the Paraguayan Network of Sexual Diversity (Red Paraguaya de la Diversidad Sexual (REPADIS) Through the “Queer Check” campaign, the project debunks falsehoods, promotes critical thinking, and encourages healthy debate on human rights and diversity.

🌎 As part of International Mother Earth Day, it is an honor to celebrate by presenting the project “Climate Resilience for Rural Families in Libertad del Sur and Taguató,” an initiative that responds to the growing challenges of climate change in rural territories.

The project was implemented by the Pro Cordillera San Rafael Association (PRO COSARA) and funded by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), 2025–2026 edition 🇨🇦🤝.

🌾🌿 The project aimed to diversify production in the Atlantic Forest, strengthen food security 🥗, and optimize the use of natural resources 🌱 through the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices.

💦 Training in water management—an essential and scarce resource—and awareness-raising on the impacts of climate change were key components of this initiative, developed in collaboration with students, teachers, and local communities.

👩‍🌾✨ The initiative also prioritized the participation of rural women as key actors in community development.

🎥💚 We invite you to watch this video, which highlights the importance of a project that strengthens rural communities on their path toward a more resilient future 💪:
