¡Feliz Día del Maestro! 🇵🇾✨
Happy Teacher’s Day! 🍎📚
Today we celebrate all those who dedicate themselves to learning and growth across Paraguay. To Peace Corps Volunteers in every sector—Economic Development, Community Health, and Environmental Conservation—who share their time, knowledge, and creativity in classrooms and community clubs.
Here’s to the teachers who shape communities and futures. 🤝🙌

Last week we celebrated both National Volunteer Week and Earth Day—the perfect reminder of why service matters. 🌎💚
Across Paraguay, volunteers showed up with their communities and for the environment—planting, teaching, learning, and working side by side with host families and local partners. The Environment sector team continued site presentations and second-year visits, spending time with volunteers in their communities. 🌱🌳
Here’s to the people and the planet we’re proud to support—this week and every week. 🌎🇵🇾🇺🇸

Our volunteer in the central Chaco, Ian, has had recent opportunities to meet and talk with the Chargé d'Affaires in Paraguay both during an official embassy visit to the zone and during a subsequent trip by Ian to tour the U.S. Embassy in Asunción. Through these meetings, Ian was able to share and discuss with the Chargé some of his experiences working and living in the Chaco and adapting to the unique environment, culture, and lifestyle. We thank Ian for being a terrific representative of the Peace Corps in Paraguay!

Volunteers across Paraguay celebrated Semana Santa the best way we know how—alongside host families, sharing traditions, stories, and plenty of homemade chipa. 💛
This past week, they learned time-honored practices firsthand, mixing, shaping, and baking chipa together.🇵🇾👩🍳

From learning Guaraní to supporting her community through English classes and work at a local nursing home, Victoria is building connection and trust every day. 🤝
💬“I learned the value of humility and active listening.”
Through each challenge and success, she continues to grow while deepening her connection to the community.🫶🏻
💬 “The successes, though sometimes small, are deeply meaningful.”

65 years of service, connection, and impact. 🌎🤝
During Peace Corps Week, we celebrate the volunteers and communities who have carried forward a mission of partnership and cultural exchange since 1961. Here in Paraguay, that legacy continues through collaboration, learning, and friendship that lasts far beyond service. 🇵🇾
As we mark this milestone, one thing remains true: it’s still the toughest job you’ll ever love. 💫

Ro hay hu tereré 💚🧉
Peace Corps Paraguay volunteers quickly fall in love with tereré — a refreshing respite from the hot Paraguayan summers and a daily ritual to sit, chat, and connect with their communities.
Many carry the tradition home and even to neighboring countries, sharing the love of tereré with friends and family.
¡Feliz Día Nacional del Tereré! 🇵🇾
