Ride-hailing app Careem has signed an agreement with Rehlat, one of the Middle East’s leading online travel apps. The partnership gives Rehlat customers access to Careem’s service directly from their app which will allow users to book rides from the airport in all the cities where Careem operates.

Qatargas has announced a long-term SPA with PetroChina to supply China with around 3.4 million tonnes of LNG per annum. Under the 22-year SPA, which ends in 2040, Qatargas will supply LNG from the Qatargas 2 project, a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil and Total, to different receiving terminals across China.

Total Marketing Qatar has renewed a supply agreement with Qatar Automobiles Company, the authorized distributor of Mitsubishi Motors and FUSO and a subsidiary of NBK Group Company, for the supply of high-performance Total branded lubricants in their service centers across the country.

Qatar Airways will start services to Da Nang in Vietnam from 19 December. This will be the third Vietnamese destination on the airline's global network. The four-times weekly flights will be served with Boeing 787-8 aircraft, featuring 22 seats in business class and 232 seats in economy.

Doha Bank has announced it will offer the best exchange rates in the industry for remittances to five countries in Asia. The bank will also allow customers to make instant money transfer to India in addition to enjoying many other benefits. Doha Bank customers sending remittances to Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka can benefit from quick transfers and best exchange rates.

Doha Bank has collaborated with MasterCard to launch a suite of new debit card products with value-added services for its customers. The range consists of the Doha Bank MasterCard Debit Card, as well as premium World Elite and World variants. The cards will allow users to conduct contactless transactions using their debit card when in the country on NAPS as well as internationally through MasterCard’s platform.

Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding Company (MPHC) has reported net profits of QR 666 million for H1, 2018, a rise of 42% compared to QR 469 mn during the same period of 2017. MPHC’s EPS rose to QR 0.53 in H1, 2018 from QR 0.37 during the corresponding period of the previous year.

ELAN Group has signed an agreement with TAMANI Global Development & Investment of Oman. Under the agreement, ELAN Group will expand its Digital Out-of-Home networks and launch two Novo Cinemas megaplexes at the upcoming developments of TAMANI Global Development & Investment - Mall of Muscat and Sohar China Downtown malls.

Qatar Airways’ Airbus A350-1000 will join the airline’s New York JFK route starting 28 October. The airline is the global launch customer for the aircraft. It currently operates on the daily non-stop service between Doha and London.

Doha Bank has announced H1, 2018 net profits of QR 471 million as against QR 715 mn for the same period last year after taking significant loan loss provision in relation to the bank’s GCC branches. Interest income increased by 12.5% compared to the same period last year. However, net interest income of the bank showed a year-on-year drop of 1% despite the challenges the market is facing for more than a year now.
