His Excellency, Ambassador Ghulam Asmal, flanked by some of the community leaders, addressed the South African Community during the commemoration of the South African National Freedom Day at the Doha Sports Park on Friday, 01 May 2026.

Kindly be informed that the South African Embassy in Qatar will be closed on Monday 27th April 2026 in observation of Freedom Day.

Public Notice:

Kindly be informed that the South African Embassy in Doha will be closed on 05 and 06 April 2026 in observation of Easter weekend.

The Embassy will resume its normal operations on Tuesday, 07 April 2026.

Please be informed that due to the ICT system integration of network and security equipment upgrade at the Head Office from Saturday, 07 February 2026 to Sunday, 08 February 2026, the Embassy will have no network services available. Consequently, the Embassy will not be able to receive emails and telephone calls for today. For enquiries, please use the Emergency line: +974 5583 2762.

The Embassy regrets any inconvenience caused owing to the disruption of our services.

The Embassy wishes to inform all that the road leading to the Embassy premises is undergoing road works effectively from today, 05 January 2026. According to Ashghal the work is estimated to take 6 months for completion. Kindly take note in order to avoid delays and accord sufficient times for your travel to and from the Embassy.

Kindly be informed that the South African Embassy in Qatar will be closed on 16 December and on the 18 December 2025 to observe Reconciliation Day and Qatar National Day respectively.

However, the Embassy will be open on December 17th 2025.
