His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received a telephone call from President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana HE Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali.
During the call, they reviewed current regional and international developments, particularly in light of the ongoing Iranian aggression against the State of Qatar.
The president condemned this continued aggression, affirming his country's readiness to provide support and assistance to the State of Qatar in confronting these circumstances.
For his part, His Highness the Amir expressed his thanks and appreciation to the president for his country's supportive stance and solidarity with the State of Qatar.
The call also included a review of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields.

President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali and His Highness, Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar held an official phone call this morning. President Ali expressed full solidarity of the people of Guyana to the State of Qatar and assured the Amir that we condemn completely all attacks on Qatar and the members of the GCC and assured the Amir that Guyana stands strongly in support of Qatar.

The Heads of state discussed long-term initiatives which included investments, food security, energy security and technology aimed at expanding collaboration through partnership. The President also offered Guyana as an important destination from a geographic and market position for Qatar, noting the long-term damage to infrastructure and the impact on their economy caused by the ongoing conflict.

His Highness, the Amir expressed his gratitude to President Ali and the people of Guyana for their constant support to the people of Qatar and expressed Qatar’s deep interest in broadening partnership in investment, human capital development, technology, food security and other critical infrastructure.

The Government of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana reiterates the importance of the continued pursuit of peace and stability in the Middle East.

The unprovoked attacks by the Iran on the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Iraq, the State of Qatar, and the State of Kuwait are unjustified and constitute a breach of international law.

The Government of Guyana condemns these attacks on sovereign states and calls upon all parties to exercise restraint and to de-escalate tensions in the interests of regional peace and stability.

Guyana expresses full solidarity with the governments and peoples of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Iraq, the State of Qatar, and the State of Kuwait, and condemns all acts of aggression against these countries.
