The Canopy Formation Demonstration team successfully put on aerial shows at Katara Cultural Village during Qatar’s 2026 National Sports Day.
The air shows at Katara Cultural Village continued in observance of National Sport Day, attracting numerous spectators who gathered to witness impressive fireworks displays and stunts performed by professional skydivers. The event was organized by the Qatar Air Sports Committee under the supervision of the Joint Special Forces.
Air shows at Aspire Park commemorated National Sport Day with an array of exhilarating performances by the Qatar Air Sports Committee and the Joint Special Forces. The event featured a captivating Paramotor show, showcasing pilots soaring with powered paragliders, and a stunning Canopy Formation display, where parachutists executed intricate coordinated formations from high altitude.
Spectators were treated to spectacular stunts, vibrant smoke trails, colorful banners fluttering in the sky, and a dazzling fireworks display in the sky with bursts of color and light.

The Qatar Air Sports Committee of the Joint Special Forces, joyfully marked National Sports Day at Aspire Park, near Villaggio Mall, this 10th of February to honor the country’s diverse sports traditions. This morning, spectators enjoyed breathtaking air shows by Qatar’s national teams, including thrilling Paramotor displays and captivating Canopy Formation Demonstrations featuring smoke, fireworks, skydivers, and skilled pilots soaring through the sky.
The excitement continues this afternoon at Katara, where the two national teams will again showcase their impressive skills. Everyone is encouraged to join and witness these spectacular performances.
Downplane and 4-Way diamond formation with pyrotechnic fireworks were showcased during last night’s air show in Katara. Spectators marveled at the skydiving performance, with cheering heard in the background.
The Downplane maneuver involves two highly skilled skydivers descending rapidly while connected with linked open parachutes, creating a unified and dynamic aerial display. The 4-Way Diamond features four skydivers deploying their parachutes simultaneously to form a symmetrical diamond shape, demonstrating precision and coordination for the audience.
Aerial footage captures the canopy formation night show, showcasing a 16-way diamond formation performed in Katara ahead of Qatar National Day 2025. The show will be back on December 18th at 4:30PM at the same venue in Katara. We warmly invite everyone to come again and enjoy this stunning aerial display.

Students from various schools across Qatar visited the region’s only dedicated Air Sports museum, located in Umm Shukhout Air Field, Al Khor City. They experienced an engaging journey through interactive exhibits and Qatar teams’ wide range of achievements, aircraft model, and multimedia displays. The students had the chance to meet experienced Qatari pilots and skydivers involved in air sports, try out equipment firsthand, and learned about the technology driving the development of air sports. Each student received a gift at the end of the tour, creating memorable moments.
Participating schools included Doha Preparatory Independent School for Boys, Doha Secondary School for Boys, Umm Salal Secondary School for Boys, Al Shahaniya Model School for Boys, Ahmed Mansour Primary School for Boys, Khalid Bin Al Waleed Preparatory School and Auditory Education Complex for Boys.
