Fun post! I found an archive of my early artistic projects. After embracing Islam in 2002, I began a period of creative exploration. These photos reflect moments of discovery, wonder and reflection of the beauty I found. My art practices in the last decade have been mostly private. There came a point where I felt the art was too much in search of praise or too affected by opinion. The search continues inwardly and outwardly. It has been a wonderful journey, alhumdulillah. Thank you for being here!

London moments ๐Ÿ’š

Travelling today and appreciating the privilege of my passport and countless blessings where I live. One day I will be asked about what I did with my time in this world, and the responsibility (amanah) that comes with everything gifted to me (family, education, safety, freedom, creativity, friends, wealth, ideas). I have much more work to do and can never repay those gifts.

Alhumdulillah for our opportunities. I think of so many people who are struggling and stuck in poverty, oppression and geno(id3. I need to do better to serve them. May God enable peace, security and tranquility for all hearts and all peoples ๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿผ

Itโ€™s early days in our game dev journey, but we have a truly wonderful & inspiring global team of heart-centered artists, designers, devs and storytellers making it happen, alhumdulilah. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

Weโ€™ve partnered with the awesome 2024 Studios led by Ahmed Najeeb, who youโ€™ll hear more from in our forthcoming Community Update 2 video. Already countless hours have gone into the story, design pillars, themes, core mechanics and initial environment tests like this one.

We also have a human-led, hand-drawn animation team delivering some incredible tests, and can't wait to share more soon. โœ๐Ÿผ

Tales of Khayaal is my lifelong labour of love, and this game is my first leap into heart-centered game design process. In an era of distraction, I ask, how might we design a compelling game focussing on for remembrance? Thank you for sharing & supporting!

ps. If this is the first time youโ€™re learning about our project, please visit www.talesofkhayaal.com and join your social of choice. Big updates coming soon, inshaAllah ๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿผ

Designing for Ramadan 2026 Edition [Link in Bio]

From sunsets to social media, and reflection to revelry, we share key insights as a guide for leaders, product and marketing teams in the lead up to this special month.

Each year, Ramadan arrives with a familiar question: how do we show up in a way that feels thoughtful, relevant, and sincere? While the month follows a lunar calendar, its emotional and cultural context is never the same twice. What people carry into Ramadan shifts year to year, shaped by global events, digital habits, and the pace of everyday life.

For Muslims around the world, Ramadan remains a deeply personal time of reflection, generosity, discipline, and community. It is a pause from routine, a re-centering of values, and a period where intention matters more than activity. These qualities make Ramadan meaningful, but they also make it sensitive. When approached without care, missteps are felt quickly.

For teams designing products, experiences, and communication, this context matters. Ramadan is not a campaign window, nor a moment to decorate for. It is a lived experience with distinct rhythms, phases, and expectations. Understanding those rhythms is what allows work to feel useful rather than intrusive.

This guide exists to support teams who want to approach Ramadan with humility and understanding. Not to chase attention, but to serve real needs. Not to follow trends, but to design with intention, respect, and care.
