OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE MALAWI COMMUNITY IN QATAR

On behalf of the Government and the people of the United Republic of Tanzania, I convey my heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, President-elect of the Republic of Malawi, on his victory in the 2025 Malawian general election. I look forward to working together to further strengthen our historic ties.

I commend His Excellency President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and the people of Malawi, for a peaceful election and a smooth transition.

The Embassy of the Republic of Malawi in Doha opens a book of condolences for the late Right Honourable Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima, Vice President of the Republic of Malawi and the accompanying eight officials at its Chancery in Al Dafna Area, Doha.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the late Vice President and the accompanying eight officials, as well as the entire nation of Malawi during this incredibly difficult time. May their souls rest in eternal peace, and may we find strength and solace in the memories and contributions they have left behind.
