When thousands gathered at the 2026 African Health Tech Summit under the theme “Wellness for All,” the energy around digitalizing healthcare in Africa was undeniable.
For us, spending two days surrounded by people from all over the world discussing the future of tech and health was an incredible experience, and Ambucycle was delighted to be part of the conversation.
As founders working to digitalize the emergency healthcare system, listening to these discussions highlighted crucial truths for our continent:
Digital health systems must be designed to scale from day one. They must mesh with African reality to be truly practical, safeguard data sovereignty and privacy, and be supported by sustainable financing.
Between absorbing key insights, connecting with interesting stakeholders like Erembo Comm and the Ministry of Health Ethiopia , and attending a Masterclass on AI x Health by Prof. P.L.O. Lumumba, the big picture became crystal clear:
The future of Africa belongs to intelligent, digitalized systems built by Africans in their own realities ensuring rapid emergency care leaves no one behind.
We left the summit energized, inspired, and ready to keep pushing the boundaries of emergency response across the region.
