I had the pleasure of visiting travel professionals in Jeddah, representing the Embassy of Cyprus in the Kingdom, where I shared updates on the outsourcing of Cyprus visa applications to an external provider. This step is aimed at making the process more accessible, efficient, and convenient for travelers.

It was also a great opportunity to discuss Cyprus as a destination—highlighting its rich culture, beautiful landscapes, and growing appeal to visitors from the region. I truly appreciated the warm welcome and the engaging discussions with tourism professionals, and I look forward to strengthening our collaboration even further.

Today, H.E. Charis Moritsis, Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Ulukbek Maripov, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Kingdom.

The meeting focused on bilateral relations and opportunities to enhance collaboration across areas of mutual interest.

H.E. Charis Moritsis, Ambassador of Cyprus to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, met with H.E. Eng. Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen AlFadley, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture of KSA.

The meeting focused on key areas of mutual interest, particularly cooperation in the field of Agriculture, water resource management, sustainability, and opportunities for collaboration in addressing environmental challenges.

IN THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA

Effective 20 April 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has
appointed VFS Global as the official visa application service provider for Cyprus in Saudi Arabia.

Please note that all Cyprus visa applications must be submitted through VFS Global at the Visa
Application Centres located in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam

The Embassy will continue to assess and make decisions on all visa applications.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on key issues of mutual interest, with a particular focus on water sustainability, innovation, and opportunities for enhanced cooperation.

His Excellency Charis Moritsis, Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, met today with His Excellency Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh.

Discussions focused on recent regional developments, including escalating tensions and their implications for regional and international security. H.E. Moritsis reaffirmed Cyprus’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the GCC and the European Union, and its support for stability and dialogue in the region.
