Today, 25 May 2026, Ambassador Raymond Balatbat received members of a delegation from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) led by Assistant Executive Director Kevin Briones.

The delegation is in the Kingdom to administer the TESDA Overseas Assessment Program which evaluates the qualifications of Overseas Filipinos in the Kingdom who are enrolled in various TESDA courses.

Among the technical skills to be assessed by the program are Caregiving, Health Care Services, Barista and Massage Therapist. The assessment program in Riyadh will run from 26 to 30 May 2026.

A team from the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, led by Vice Consul Aldrick Joseph M. Timbol, conducted an Embassy-on-Wheels (EOW) in Hofuf, Al Ahsa, on 22-23 May 2026.

The EOW is part of the Embassy’s ongoing efforts to make consular services more accessible to Filipino communities throughout the Kingdom.

Today, 20 May 2026, Ambassador Raymond Balatbat met with H.E. Engineer Iyad Abdulrahman Al-Garawi, Assistant Minister for Private Education and Investment and Board Chairman for Colleges of Excellence of the Saudi Ministry of Education (MOE) at the MOE headquarters in Riyadh.

The Ambassador expressed the Embassy's appreciation towards the Ministry for supporting Philippine Schools Overseas (PSOs) that are located in the Kingdom, and also for providing scholarships to deserving Filipino students.

Both sides also discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the Philippines and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through cooperation in the field of education.
