Please be informed that the Minister’s Secretariat, located at Family House, Bel Eau, will be closed on Friday, 24th October 2025.

Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, 28th October 2025.

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Family, and the National Sports Council (NSC), confirmed, today, it has been made aware of a situation involving a group of 20 Seychellois swimmers currently stranded in Eswatini.

The Ministry and NSC were not officially notified of the team's travel to Eswatini. It is standard protocol for sports associations and federations to formally inform the NSC of any international travel for sporting events and competitions.

The Seychellois authorities are actively working to resolve the issue. Necessary arrangements are being made to settle the accommodation bill and ensure the safe and timely return of all 20 swimmers.

The Vocational Training Centre (VTC) officially reopened on Monday, 18th August 2025, after being closed for several years.

The reopening was marked by President Wavel Ramkalawan and Dinarra Bonne, who unveiled the plaque commemorating this significant moment.

The centre’s mission is to provide opportunities and inclusive programmes for individuals living with disabilities, ensuring that they have the skills and support needed to thrive.

During the ceremony, Minister for Youth, Sports and Family Marie-Celine Zialor, together with Director General for the family department Christopher Adelaide, unveiled the new VTC logo, a meaningful design crafted by Seychellois graphic artist Kurt Pool.

In his address, the Principal Secretary for the Family Department highlighted that the VTC represents hope and empowerment for persons with disabilities, ensuring they receive the same opportunities for employment as everyone else.

The reopening of the VTC marks a new chapter in building a more inclusive Seychelles.

Today, Seychelles joins the rest of the world in celebrating International Youth Day. This is a day to recognise the dreams, voices, and boundless potential of our young people. Young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are leaders today, bringing fresh ideas, courage, and creativity into every corner of our society.

This year, Seychelles proudly hosted the 13th edition of the CJSOI Games, an unforgettable celebration of sport, culture, and unity among the youth of the Indian Ocean. Watching your passion on the playing fields, your teamwork, and your respect for one another was truly inspiring. You proved that when youth come together with determination and respect, great things happen.

As we reflect on this special day, I encourage every young person to keep believing in himself or herself, to set bold goals, and to take active steps toward building the future they want. Your energy is a force for positive change, not just in your own lives, but also in your communities and in our country as a whole. Above all, remember that there is no limit to what the human spirit can achieve; any limit is self-imposed.
