Fangak County is one of the northern counties of Jonglei State.
Fangak County established as District in 1912 during British Colonization before Sudan independent in1956. It is exactly located between the River Nile and Zeraf Valley (Phow) in the Sudd areas of South Sudan. In 1995, greater Fangak County (District by then) was promoted to County by the Sudan Government.
