Fuel has turned into the most critical logistic asset amid ongoing conflict in Sudan. Therefore, secured relocation of WFP fuel was of utmost importance in the present context. On 13 and 14 May 2023, BANBATT relocated and secured 47,986 litres of fuel from the WFP warehouse to Kadugli Logistics Base. The said fuel remained unattended in the WFP warehouse under the looming threat of being plundered. BANBATT secured the site and transferred the fuel for protected transportation to Kadugli Logistics Base. The fuel was subsequently handed over to UNISFA Fuel Unit. The operation exemplifies BANBATT's commitment in protecting UN assets under threat.
