تدين سفارات كندا، فرنسا، ألمانيا، إيطاليا، اليابان، هولندا، النرويج، بولندا، جمهورية كوريا، إسبانيا، سويسرا، السويد، المملكة المتحدة والولايات المتحدة وبعثة الإتحاد الاوروبي في السودان ادانة قاطعة وبأشد العبارات استمرار العنف - بما في ذلك الهجمات الموجهة ضد الدبلوماسيين والمدنيين والجهات الإنسانية - بين القوات المسلحة السودانية وقوات الدعم السريع وتدعوالأطراف إلى إنهاء الأعمال العدائية على الفور وبدون شروط مسبقة. مع استمرار القتال في يومه الخامس، يواصل الناس في جميع أنحاء السودان الاحتماء في أماكنهم، خوفًا على حياتهم، ومن نفاد الوقود والغذاء والدواء والمياه. أسفرت العمليات العسكرية عن سقوط عدد كبير من القتلى والجرحى من المدنيين، وهي تعرض الشعب السوداني والدبلوماسيين وعمال الإغاثة الإنسانية للخطر بشكل متهور. عدد القتلى كان مرتفعاً، حيث قُدرت مبدئيا أعداد القتلى من المدنيين بأكثر من 270 قتيلاً. تعطل وبشدة الوصول إلى المستشفيات والخدمات الطبية الحيوية ووقع الكثير من هذا القتال في المناطق الحضرية، ولا سيما الخرطوم، وهو أمر خطير. يجب على القادة العسكريين السودانيين الدخول في حوار دون تأخير. لقد عرضت افعالهم عددًا لا يحصى من الأشخاص في جميع أنحاء السودان للخطر وأبطلت دعوة الشعب السوداني المشروعة إلى انتقال ديمقراطي سلمي. إننا نقف متضامنين مع الشعب السوداني والمنطقة الذين وجهوا نداءات واضحة للقوات المتصارعة لإنهاء الأعمال العدائية على الفور. نحث جميع القوى على تجنب المزيد من التصعيد، ووقف إطلاق النار، ووقف تحركات القوات، وتعليق عمليات إعادة الإمداد، والتزود بالوقود، وإعادة التسليح، وبدء محادثات لحل القضايا العالقة. ندعو الاطراف المقاتلة علي وجه التحديد إلى التقيد الصارم بالتزاماتها بموجب القانون الدولي لحماية الدبلوماسيين والمدنيين والعاملين في المجال الإنساني. نناشد قوات الدعم السريع والقوات المسلحة السودانية لاحترام حقوق المدنيين المنصوص عليها في اتفاقيات جنيف والاتفاقيات الدولية لحقوق الإنسان التي صادق عليها السودان: و الامتناع عن اجلاء الناس بشكل غير قانوني من منازلهم؛ و قطع البنية التحتية والمرافق المدنية؛ وتسهيل شراء المدنيين للإمدادات الأساسية و الحصول العاجل علي الرعاية الطبية للمرضي و الجرحي. يؤثر عدم قدرة العاملين في المجال الانساني علي العمل بأمان علي ملايين السودانيين المستضعفين بالفعل بمن فيهم النازحون بسبب القتال المستمر. نؤكد أن التسوية الشاملة والدائمة للخلافات بين القوات المسلحة السودانية وقوات الدعم السريع هي أولوية ملحة لا يمكن تحقيقها إلا من خلال الحوار السياسي السلمي، وفي سياق الجهود الوطنية لمعالجة التحديات التي يواجهها السودان وفقا لعملية سياسية. نستمر في الوقوف إلى جانب الشعب السوداني في دعواته من أجل مستقبل سلمي وعادل وحر للسودان.

The Embassies of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, the Republic of Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Delegation of the European Union in Sudan unequivocally condemn in the strongest terms the continuing violence – including attacks directed against civilians, diplomats, and humanitarian actors – between the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces and call on the parties to end hostilities immediately and without pre-condition.

As the fighting proceeds through its fifth day, people across Sudan continue sheltering in place, fearing for their lives, and running low on fuel, food, medicine, and water. Military operations have resulted in significant civilian deaths and injuries and are recklessly endangering the Sudanese people, diplomats, and humanitarian aid workers. The toll has been high, with initial estimated civilian deaths of more than 270. Access to hospitals and vital medical services have been severely disrupted. Much of this fighting has occurred in urban areas, including Khartoum.

Sudan’s military leaders must engage in dialogue without delay. Their actions across Sudan have placed countless people at risk and set back the Sudanese people’s rightful call for a peaceful democratic transition.

We stand in solidarity with the people of Sudan and the region who have made clear calls for the opposing forces to end hostilities immediately. We urge all forces to avoid further escalations, cease fire, halt the movement of forces, suspend resupply, refueling, and rearming actions, and initiate talks to resolve outstanding issues.

We specifically call on the fighting parties to strictly observe their obligations under international law to protect civilians, diplomats, and humanitarian actors. We implore the RSF and SAF to respect the rights of civilians enshrined in the Geneva Conventions and international human rights conventions ratified by Sudan and customary international law: to refrain from unlawfully evicting people from their homes; spare civilian infrastructure and facilities; and facilitate civilians’ procurement of essential supplies and urgent access to medical care for the sick and wounded. The inability of humanitarians to safely operate impacts millions of already vulnerable Sudanese, now including those displaced by the ongoing fighting.

We emphasize that comprehensive and lasting settlement of the differences between the SAF and the RSF is an urgent priority which can be achieved only by peaceful political dialogue, and within the context of national efforts to address the challenges that Sudan faces pursuant to a political process. We continue to stand with the Sudanese people in their calls for a peaceful, just, and free future for Sudan.
