PAP Chua Chu Kang GRC
Together A Home We Love ❤️
10/05/2026
This Mothers’ Day, I am reminded of my mum’s sole devotion, love and hopes for me. She gave everything she had to me. A mother’s love is often found in the quiet, everyday moments — in her constant presence, sacrifices and care. My deepest appreciation and gratitude to all our dearest mothers!

A meaningful effort to uplift families and reaffirm our commitment to care for those in need.

[Meet-the-People Session at Tengah]
Tonight’s MPS took place under a heavy downpour. I arrived slightly later from Parliament, but our volunteers were already on the ground — steady and focused. I am grateful for their quiet dedication. Rain did not deter residents either.
One resident came through the storm not to seek help, but to share good news. After a difficult episode with a school entrance assessment, his son has secured a place in the school of his choice.
We worked through the matter carefully. The outcome mattered — but so did the perseverance behind it. I was struck by the young boy’s determination, and by a father’s steadfast support.
Trust is built in moments like these. We will continue to serve every family who comes forward — with seriousness, compassion, and follow-through. 🙏🏻

[🏛 Responses to my Parliamentary Questions: 15th Parliament Session 5 - 3 to 4 February 2026]
Here are the replies to the Parliamentary Questions I raised in the 3- 4 February 2026 sitting:
PolCam Installations for Tengah:
📷 This was raised in response to feedback from residents at Plantation Village and Plantation Grove precincts.
📷I asked if there are planned PolCam installations in Plantation Village and Plantation Grove and corresponding deployment timelines, as well as consideration of resident-identified danger zones beyond standard locations.
📷MHA replied that PolCams are typically installed within 1 year after TOP. For Plantation Village and Plantation Grove, there has been a delay due to rectification works. MHA is working closely with HDB and PolCams in the 2 precincts can be expected to be progressively installed from March 2026.
🚗 Free Parking Scheme (FPS) in Tengah: Following the filing of Parliamentary Question on FPS in Tengah and ahead of the sitting, HDB has supported rolling out FPS in Tengah. See https://www.instagram.com/p/DUHRCKmktm2/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
The remaining Parliamentary Questions were on the following:
🏗 Ensuring Correct Use of Dormitory Transition Scheme Grants
🧬 Data on PREDICT Programme Screening and Plans to Expand Outreach of Programme
🏢 Publicly Accessible Monitoring Registry Tracking Removal Status of Asbestos from Older Buildings
💊 Strengthening Monitoring Systems to Prevent Abuse of Prescription Drugs
When you entrust me with your aspirations, I carry your voices forward in Parliament — so that together we create a home we love in Tengah.

[🏛 15th Parliament Session 6 – Committee of Supply Debate 2026: Ministry of Education]
During the Committee of Supply Debate for MOE, I spoke on lifelong learning, career mobility and the merger of SkillsFuture Singapore and Workforce Singapore.
I focused on three priorities that will determine whether lifelong learning continues to strengthen our social compact.
🎓 (1) Progression, not just participation:
When I speak with students and working adults, their question is not about the number of courses available. It is whether effort will genuinely move them forward. Beyond enrolment and initial placement, what matters are sustained wage growth, employment stability and strong skills-job matching. Training must shift trajectories, not just transcripts.
🏛 (2) Coherent policy architecture:
The merger of SkillsFuture Singapore and Workforce Singapore is significant because careers are now longer and less linear. Support must be integrated across skills acquisition, job transitions and progression. But integration alone will not secure trust. With the new agency reporting to both MOE and MOM, a clear framework is needed to prevent gridlock, especially when employment outcomes and longer term career development priorities diverge.
💼 (3) Incentives that align with advancement:
Lifelong learning succeeds only when employers recognise upgraded skills in promotion, pay and job redesign. If retraining does not lead to visible advancement, workers will hesitate regardless of subsidies. Effort must continue to open doors, as it has long done in Singapore.
📈 In a changing economy, every Singaporean willing to adapt should see a clear path forward. If implemented well, this reform will strengthen confidence in upward mobility for the next generation.
