These homegrown innovators are breaking new ground The Open Innovation Platform by IMDA has allowed three Singapore technology solution providers to scale up and gain market presence abroad. Read more at The Business Times.

Congratulations to Vouch and Joseph Ling for getting onto IMDA’s prestigious Accreditation@SGD programme, which helps accelerate promising start-ups’ growth!

Vouch is a travel-tech company that offers digital solutions for streamlining hotel operations and enhancing guest experience. It won their first Open Innovation Platform challenge in 2018, and joined for incubation under the Facebook Startup Garage in 2019. We supported Vouch through our Digital-Storytelling and UI/ UX coaching, and this culminated in them winning the “Best Business Innovation” award at the Tourism Awards 2019.

During Covid-19, Vouch pivoted to expand into Europe and South Korea. They also won two more OIP challenges with Frasers, Parkroyal and Pan Pacific Hotels, which helped to validate their product further, and bring them key reference customers to scale further.

Congratulations to Jackson Aw and the Mighty Jaxx team for raising USD $20 million in a funding round led by East Ventures in your Series A+ Funding! It feels like only yesterday that Mighty Jaxx was a PIXEL incubatee in 2019. There, they benefitted from the Ubisoft's Entrepreneurs Lab Program, where Ubisoft mentored on topics such as UI/UX, block chain and legal matters. Since then, Mighty Jaxx has grown in leaps and bounds.

Mighty Jaxx will be using this investment to harness cutting edge technologies with the biggest brands globally to produce phygital collectibles, and build a virtual ecosystem to offer new immersive experiences with refreshing digital content.

A special shoutout to the team at Vulcan AI, which recently showcased its cutting-edge that detects slips, trips and falls (STFs) near misses and hazards.

Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat visited Chye Thiam Maintenance Pte Ltd (CTM) recently to Vulcan AI's solutiuon in action.

The Worksafe multi-sensory solution is a product of IMDA's Open Innovation Platform (OIP)!

Background: STFs have caused the most workplace injuries in the last few years, and so the Building and Construction Authority (Singapore) and Singapore Ministry of Manpower issued a business challenge in Innovation Call 6 to address this pressing safety issue.

Vulcan AI's winning solution for this OIP Business Challenge uses a combination of , (e.g. smart watches), and AI tech to improve the safety of workers and prevent these kinds of accidents.

CTM tested the solution, and after completing a successful pilot, some of its workers now use the wearables for daily work.

This is just one of the success stories of OIP.
