It’s almost the end of the month and we have 3 more events lined up. Last year, we were forced to pivot and everything had to be done virtually - online bake sales, online campaigning and virtual zoom bakealongs. With things opening up this year, our aim has been to actively engage with the community and have conversations in person.
It has been extremely rewarding. We got a chance to meet so many kind bakers and generous donors along the way, starting with our very first pop-up bake sale in Jurong earlier this month, followed by two successful celebrity bake auctions (although virtually, it was exciting to see the bids coming in).
Here’s a quick summary 👆🏼of what we are up to this week, our last week of May. We have two Cookie Conversation sessions - a bakealong in Tampines on Friday and a decorating sesh on Sunday in Woodlands, and will be there too to share about mental health and wellness.
In between we have a grey yin yoga session at Botanic Gardens, a great way to kickstart the weekend mindfully. Bring a mat and join us at 8am, we’ll be at Lawn E, opposite Swan Lake.
See you this weekend! 🫶🏼

Come join our free ‘Grey’ Yin Yoga session, led by our good friend and mental health advocate Alce Patricia. Alce is a certified Yoga instructor who is Grey gifting her yoga practice to anyone who wishes to join her as her way of giving to the movement. We offered this practice virtually last year (because ) and we had so many join us on zoom. It was such a great way to start the weekend, so we are super excited this year to be able to do this in person at the Botanic Gardens!
Yin Yoga is a great way to slow down and be present, a mindful practice with simple breath work and calming postures that is beneficial for our mental health.
So bring a mat and perhaps wear something grey with a pop of colour and join us at :
⌚️8am, Saturday 28 May
📍Lawn E (opposite Swan Lake)
Singapore Botanic Gardens
We hope you’ll enjoy the class and also support our campaign by helping us to raise funds and awareness for mental health issues. Swipe to scan the QR code to donate.

We are super excited for this event with MP Hany Soh and happening this Sunday at Woodgrove!
Cookie Conversations with Depressed Cake Shop is a fun cookie decorating workshop coupled with some sharing and chatting about mental health.
Baking is a great form of therapy for mental stresses and decorating your bakes is often a part of that process. We personally have found baking to be a wonderful outlet for destressing and centering ourselves whilst in the process.
A problem shared is often a problem halved. Talking about it can also be a great relief. But unfortunately, there is still a stigma surrounding mental health, and many are afraid, unsure or too embarrassed to share.
Let’s come together and get those conversations going while we decorate our cookies, and stop the stigma with us. We can be the change, it all starts from home.
We’ll be baking and bringing you some delicious vanilla cookies to work on, all you need to do is make the icing (don’t worry we’ll teach you) and get ready to get creative and have fun.
See you Sunday at Fuchun Community Club! Swipe to the last slide for details on how to register ! 🙏🏼
