Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
This Ramadan, I witnessed the strength of our community — in every act of service, every shared moment, and every gesture of compassion.
I am deeply grateful for the dedication of my colleagues in MUIS and the mosque sector, and the generosity of our community who came together to uplift and support one another.
May the spirit of Ramadan continue to guide us as we step into Syawal.
Wishing each and every one of you, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin.

Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
I spent a meaningful Ramadan evening at Masjid Al-Abdul Razak, a small mosque in the Eunos neighbourhood that has been serving the community since 1965. It was a pleasure meeting the mosque staff, volunteers and congregants, and joining them for Tarawih.
The mosque’s volunteers demonstrated how they embody akhlak (moral character) in serving the jemaah. From carefully preparing food to making sure everything is ready for congregants who come to break their fast and perform their prayers, it is heartening to see their dedication in supporting the community.
Moments like these remind me of how Ramadan brings out the best in our communities. Behind every gathering in our mosques are individuals who give their time, energy and care so that others can worship with ease and focus.
May Allah bless these sincere efforts and reward all who continue to serve our jemaah with such generosity.

Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
Earlier, I met some of the people at Masjid Kampong Delta who are busiest before Maghrib. While many of us are preparing to break fast, they are hard at work preparing food for the jemaah. Cooking porridge, cutting fruits and making sure everything is ready in time.
What moved me most was their humility. They spoke simply about what they do, sharing that they serve because they want to contribute in whatever way they can.
Their sincerity is a beautiful reminder of the spirit of Ramadan, where small acts of service can mean so much to others.
Take a moment to thank someone who made your Ramadan easier.♥️

Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
Alhamdulillah for a soulful Ramadan evening at Masjid Alkaff Upper Serangoon.
The evening was made possible by volunteers from many walks of life. This includes our Bangladeshi bhaiyas (brothers), who selflessly serve our jemaah with care and consistency throughout Ramadan.
In the midst of our busy days, the mosque gives us space to pause. It invites us to slow down. To reflect. To reconnect with Allah s.w.t. and with one another. I am often moved by the simple acts of service, the warmth in small gestures, and the spirit of giving that is so ingrained in our communities.
May this Ramadan bring ease to those who are struggling, strength to those who are persevering and blessings to every home. May we continue to look out for one another and may our mosques remain spaces of mercy, compassion, and unity. Ameen.

Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
Today, I had the privilege of witnessing history in the making at the Singapore College of Islamic Studies (SCIS) Symposium 2026 at Raffles City Convention Centre. This milestone event marks our journey towards launching Singapore's first dedicated Islamic higher education institution in 2028.
As a member of the Board of Governors, I was inspired to see distinguished scholars, educators, and community leaders come together to explore how SCIS will bridge rich Islamic traditions with modern realities. Through the plenary sessions and workshops, we witnessed how future SCIS students will develop critical thinking skills and emerge as influential leaders.
The future of Islamic education builds upon our rich traditions while thoughtfully integrating it with contemporary knowledge to develop leaders who can navigate tomorrow's challenges.
May Allah continue to bless this historic initiative and grant success to all shaping the future of Islamic education in Singapore.

🎓 Congratulations, Youth aLIVE graduates!
Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
The Youth aLIVE Graduation Ceremony was truly special for me. I had the privilege of standing among more than 500 graduates from centres all over Singapore. Each of them carries their own story, their own struggles, and their own hopes for the future. Seeing everyone gather at the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Convention Centre felt like witnessing a bright new chapter opening right before our eyes.
It was beautiful to see how far our youth have come and how much potential they are ready to bring into the world. Their energy, their sincerity, and the light in their faces were honestly uplifting.
To all our Youth aLIVE graduates, congratulations once again! May you always let your light shine for yourselves, your families, our community, and those who will come after you.
May Allah continue to bless and guide you in your next chapter of life and draw you ever closer to Him in everything you do. Ameen.

Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
What a joyous day it has been! Today, we celebrated over 500 graduates from 24 centres at the Youth aLIVE Graduation Ceremony 2025. Many of them have journeyed with aLIVE since the age of five, from Kids, to Tweens, to Teens, and now Youth. Watching them reach this beautiful milestone is such a blessing, Alhamdulillah.
This year’s theme, Legacies of Light, reminds us that knowledge is an amanah (trust) meant to be lived, shared and passed on. As Allah s.w.t. says in Surah An-Nur, verse 35: “Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth.” May the light of what they have learnt illuminate their paths ahead.
We were especially moved by stories like that of Chairil Luqman from Al-Iman Mosque, a student with high-functioning autism whose resilience and determination touched our hearts.
This year, we also introduced the Little Lives app to help parents, teachers, and students stay more connected, because meaningful learning flourishes when there is strong support, trust and communication.
None of this would have been possible without a village - the parents and educators. Thank you for your patience, your guidance, and the countless unseen hours you dedicate to shaping these young hearts.
May Allah s.w.t. bless our graduates with steadfastness and may the knowledge they carry become a source of light and goodness for all.

♥️Every visit, every conversation, every gesture of kindness builds a bridge of connection, reminding us that no one in our community should ever be left behind.
Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
At the inaugural Volunteer CARE-nival 2025 last Sunday, I had the honour of joining over 400 volunteers and partners in celebrating the heart of service. 🫶🏼
From our MUIS–Mosque Befrienders who bring warmth and companionship into homes, to our FITRAH (Family and Inmates Throughcare Assistance Haven) volunteers who offer hope and spiritual support, each act of service, no matter how small, leaves a lasting impact.
It was a morning filled with energy, purpose and gratitude, complete with thoughtful gestures like flower bouquets for our volunteers, symbolising our appreciation for their care and dedication. 💐✨
To all our volunteers and partners, thank you for serving with heart. You are the reason our community continues to grow in compassion and faith.💕

Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
Last Saturday, we gathered for a meaningful day at the aLIVE Asatizah Awards and Symposium 2025!
This year's theme, "Take a Pause: Sabr, Reflection & Resilience in Education," reminded us that caring for ourselves is not a luxury, it is an amanah. We celebrated 20 outstanding asatizah who have gone above and beyond.
From our valedictorian, Ustazah Nur Al' Husainah Binte Mohammed Ali, who began teaching at 17 and continues to shape young minds at Al-Ansar Mosque, to the collective dedication of over 450 attendees showcased the true foundation of Islamic education: educators who teach not only from books, but from the heart.
As we continue this journey forward, may we serve with sabr, grow through reflection, and rise with resilience.
To all our asatizah, you are more than educators. You are mentors, guides and the hearts of our community. Thank you for your patience, passion and perseverance in nurturing our next generation.

Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
Today, I had the privilege of meeting with Singapore's Honorary Consul-General (HCG) in Amman, Jordan, Ms Dina Haddad, and outgoing HCG Mr George Haddad, for insightful discussions on mutual interest between MUIS and Jordan.
Together with Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs, Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, we were encouraged by our shared commitment to enhancing consular support for our students and strengthening our meaningful partnerships - from our halal certification Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to our joint humanitarian efforts channelling aid to Gaza through Jordan.
This collaboration holds special significance as we advance the Singapore College of Islamic Studies, building bridges that strengthen our global network of Islamic scholarship.
May Allah s.w.t. bless these meaningful partnerships and grant success to all our students seeking knowledge abroad, insyaAllah.
