๐๐ซ Rats donโt take breaks. Neither should our efforts to keep them away.
Through close collaboration with stakeholders in Little India, the number of rat burrows dropped to zero during the Mar to Apr surveillance cycle this year, compared to an average of 37 every two months in 2025.
This encouraging result was made possible through a combination of active surveillance, stakeholder engagements and enforcement efforts. But keeping rats away remains a shared responsibility โ it takes everyone playing their part.

Why does sunrise timing change every day? ๐
Even though Singapore is located near the equator, where our day length changes only slightly, the timing of sunrise and sunset still shifts gradually from month to month.
For example, sunrise is around 6:57 am in early June, but moves to around 7:03 am by the end of the month.
These small changes are caused by the tilt of the Earth and its orbit around the Sun, which affect how sunlight reaches different parts of the globe.
While the differences may only be a few minutes at a time, theyโre a gentle reminder that seasonal changes happen in Singapore too โ just in much subtler ways than in places with four distinct seasons. โ๏ธ๐
