Di tengah lautan merah yang memenuhi Stadium, memang terasa semangat rakyat Singapura untuk terus maju bersama.

Alhamdullilah saya dapat berkongsi detik ini bersama rakan-rakan Melayu/Islam di Perbarisan Hari Kebangsaan semalam. Walaupun kami memainkan peranan yang berbeza, kami berkongsi amanah yang sama, iaitu untuk terus berkhidmat kepada masyarakat dan melihat masyarakat dan negara yang kita cintai terus maju.

Masih banyak yang perlu kami pelajari dan usahakan. Kami akan terus mendengar, memahami aspirasi masyarakat dan bekerjasama untuk membina masa depan yang lebih baik bersama.

Did we get the chance to meet and greet during our PAP Woodgrove Branch’s National Day 🇸🇬 walkabout last weekend at 888 Plaza and the coffeeshops at Blks 892C, 570A and 568C in Woodgrove? 😍

Looking forward to catching up with more residents during the second half of the National Day walkabout tomorrow morning in other parts of Woodgrove, starting at Fuchun Market. See ya~ 😉

Thank you for the helpful emails and valuable conversations. I have listened to and studied your genuine concerns about Maju Forest - and I have decided to act by raising the issues in Parliament.

As a result, I have filed two Parliamentary Questions and an Adjournment Motion in Parliament.

The first of two Parliamentary Questions is:

"To ask the Minister for National Development in light of the possible development at Maju Forest, whether the concerns and recommendations of the nature and conservation groups on preserving greenery, flora and fauna can be adopted."

The second Parliamentary Question is:

"To ask the Minister for National Development (a) what lessons from Dover Forest will be applied at Maju Forest to better preserve ecological connectivity and biodiversity; and (b) whether the Ministry will consider enhancing safeguards to minimise harm to native flora and critically endangered fauna at this early stage of planning."

The two Parliamentary Questions will likely be answered during the 4th or 5th August Sitting of Parliament.

The Adjournment Motion is entitled: “Preservation of Maju Forest”.

The Adjournment Motion speech will be delivered at the 5th August Sitting of Parliament if it is chosen through a ballot, per the Standing Orders of Parliament.

I am glad to be working, on the ground, alongside Ms Sim Ann - who has also been diligently compiling and responding to residents.

The situation in the Middle East remains volatile, and we continue to feel the effects here at home. That is why we are rolling out a second package of support measures to provide additional help for households and businesses.

The package includes more CDC Vouchers, additional U-Save Rebates, enhanced support for lower-income families, and targeted assistance for SMEs, as well as eligible market and hawker centre stallholders.

These measures build on the support we have already provided, and I hope they will give Singaporeans greater confidence as we navigate this period of uncertainty together.

I am grateful to our residents for sharing with me their views and concerns about HDB’s development plans for Sunset Way - by coming to our in-person meeting, emailing me, and speaking with me during door-to-door visits and my MPS.

I have been conveying our residents’ feedback and engaging directly with MND and HDB, alongside my colleague Mr Christopher de Souza . Many in our community are deeply concerned about the potential loss of greenery, and want to see as much of it retained as possible. We have emphasised this to HDB, and also conveyed various suggestions from residents on how to mitigate the impact of housing development in our neighbourhood.

Next week, the issue will be discussed in Parliament. HDB has already said that the plans shared thus far are not final. I believe our residents’ views will be considered thoroughly and seriously, and that these will help shape the eventual outcome. Mr de Souza and I will continue to be actively engaged on this very important issue for Sunset Way.

Over the weekend, our Woodgrove Branch Branch youths joined fellow Young PAP members from across Singapore at the YP40 Festival celebrations! 💙🎉

The celebration was a reminder that youth leadership is about stepping forward with purpose, serving with heart, and making a positive difference in our communities 🤝.

As PM Lawrence Wong shared, every generation brings fresh ideas, new energy, and a renewed sense of responsibility to take Singapore forward. It is this spirit that encourages more youths to step up, serve, and contribute to the communities around them.
