โHello, remember me?โ If you have heard this from a call, be wary and exercise caution!๐จ
Scammers are posing as friends to trick you into transferring money urgently.
In some instances, after money transfer has been made, some victims have even received a follow up call from a scammer posing as a police officer, alleging that the earlier transfer was linked to criminal activities.
Victims would be asked to transfer more money to a โsafety accountโ to support investigations.
How you can protect yourself:
โผ๏ธAlways verify who you are speaking to and never transfer money to unknown persons.
โ ๏ธGovernment officials, including the Police, will never ask you to transfer money or hand over valuables over a phone call.

Serangoon Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC) and Hougang NPC will merge to form Serangoon NPC on 6 July 2026. The merging of NPCs optimises limited Police resources by combining smaller NPCs serving adjacent areas into a larger operational base. This is part of the transformation of Police's frontline operations to better address evolving security challenges and community needs, which includes plans to progressively increase the number of Police cameras (PolCams) to more than 200,000 cameras island-wide, including in and around the Serangoon and Hougang estates.
Following the merger, Hougang NPC's service counter will close for renovation. The NPC will re-open as Hougang West Neighbourhood Police Post (NPP). At the same time, the existing Hougang NPP will be renamed to Hougang East NPP, tentatively by Q4 2027. Serangoon NPC, which was under renovation, will reopen on 6 July 2026 with a refurbished self-help report-lodging area.
While Hougang NPC is under renovation, residents may lodge a report for non-emergency cases:
a) Online at http://www.Police.gov.sg/e-services
b) At Hougang NPP's self-help kiosk; or
c) At Ang Mo Kio South NPC if residents require in-person counter services.
For emergencies, residents should call '999'.
Find out more about the merger in the link below.

A Traffic Police officer shared how every phone call brought dread, knowing it meant someone had died and another family would be grieving. He recalled fatal accidents where lives were cut short in an instant, including a case where a speeding driver killed a young couple, leaving their loved ones struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss.
The hardest moments come after the crash. Telling families that their son, daughter or partner will never return home is something that stays with the officer. He described how a victim had just said goodbye to his family hours earlier, yet never made it back, leaving relatives at a loss over how to break the news to others.
Even after the scene is cleared, the pain lingers. The officer shared that he sometimes cries alone, carrying the weight of the loss these families endure. These are not just statistics, but someoneโs loved one, gone in an instant.
Every journey is shared. Slow down, give way and stay focused. Looking out for one another reduces risk, keeps traffic moving smoothly, and helps ensure everyone gets home safely to their loved ones.
