We believe that only democracy will create an open, vibrant, harmonious, inclusive society with prosperity for all. Political Ideology
The Reform Party is a broad-based, centrally aligned Party. We come under the broader umbrella of Liberal and Democratic Parties. We have a strong economic platform which espouses equal endowment for all Singaporeans rather than penalising some sectors. We believe in safety nets and the removal of policies which have created a sandwich class and therefore cannot be described as libertarian although we believe in small government and big society. Reform Party promotes dignity and respect for all Singaporeans. We promote a harmonious society and believe in the unique abilities and potential of every member of our society. The Reform Party is committed towards building a democratic society that offers a choice and freedom of ideas and expression, responsibly executed. We are mindful of the law and a moral, law abiding Party but we will challenge unjust laws which hinder the development of a better future for us all. We do all of this through what remains of the democratic process available to us. Structure
Above all The Reform Party does not make empty promises. We believe that it is mere rhetoric for a Party to talk about democracy or use it in their branding if the Party is itself not demonstrably a democracy. We therefore have a constitution whereby the Party Conference is sovereign. The CEC has no power not granted to it by a consensus of the membership in an open democratic vote. The CEC therefore serves the members and not the other way around. This exactly mirrors the democratic society we hope to achieve whereby our national leaders serve our society.
