🎭 CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED PERUVIAN THEATRE SHINES AT SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF ARTS 2026! 🇵🇪✨

The Embassy of Peru is immensely proud to have supported Arts House Group in bringing Peru’s Teatro La Plaza to Singapore, contributing to the participation of its phenomenal artists during a spectacular three-day run on 21, 22 and 23 May, featuring a deeply moving performance of “Hamlet” at the Drama Centre Theatre.

Before arriving in Singapore, this internationally acclaimed production grew into a true global sensation, touring prestigious venues worldwide:

🗽 Polonsky Shakespeare Center in New York City (2026)

🇬🇧 The Barbican Centre in London (2025)

🎭 The Edinburgh International Festival (2024)

🍂 The Paris Autumn Festival (2023)

Here is a look back at why this showcase was so unforgettable:

✨ A Radical Reimagining: A remarkably talented cast of actors with Down syndrome beautifully wove Shakespeare’s classic text with their own lived experiences to explore what it truly means "to be."

📰 Highly Acclaimed: The production captured the hearts of local audiences and earned major praise in:

🗣️ Reception and Artist Dialogue:

Last Friday, 22 May, Arts House Group hosted a reception with its senior leadership, including Chairman Professor Arnoud De Meyer, SIFA Festival Director Chong Tze Chien, and Executive Director Sharon Tan. Following the reception, Arts House Group’s leadership, together with His Excellency Ambassador Fernando Quirós, attended the evening performance, which concluded with an inspiring post-show talk that connected the audience directly with outstanding Peru’s Teatro La Plaza artists.

Thank you to everyone in Singapore who came out to support and celebrate this joyful milestone for Peruvian contemporary arts! 🥂👏

🇵🇪🤝🇸🇬 Strengthening Peru–Singapore ties through ports, logistics, and investments

Today, the Ambassador-designate of Peru to Singapore, Fernando Quiros, paid a visit to PSA Headquarters in Singapore as part of Peru’s ongoing efforts to deepen cooperation with like-minded partners around the world.

Ambassador Quiros was welcomed at PSA by Mr. Er Wei Lim, Vice President, Group Business Development, PSA International; and by Mr. Samuel Lee, Assistant Vice-President, Regional Business and Operations, PSA Marine.

The visit allows the new Peruvian ambassador to receive first hand information about PSA’s operations, including PSA Marine’s important presence in Peru, one of the flagship examples of the growing economic and commercial ties between both countries.

Recent important developments in Peru -like key port infrastructure projects- are strengthening Peru’s role as a future logistics, industrial and technological hub on South America’s Pacific coast which would open new opportunities for business and cooperation in the maritime and port sectors with a world class key player as Singapore.
