Clock 1,500 steps on over 1km of meandering trails – all within the recently completed Yishun Boardwalk and adjacent neighbourhood park.

Located near Sungei Khatib Bongsu, Yishun Boardwalk features winding trails that invite you to slowly 'unfold' its shared spaces for all ages. From fitness corners and playgrounds with mega-sized insects, to shaded pavilions, these spaces offer moments of rest and activity amid lush greenery.

From ice cream to trusty handheld fans, we all have our ways to stay cool. The cool coatings on HDB blocks are helping too!

Cool coatings are special paints that reflect the heat of the sun and can lower ambient temperatures by up to 2°C. The paint was first piloted at about 130 blocks in Tampines, and they are now being rolled out to new and existing HDB projects islandwide. Some 400 blocks in Choa Chu Kang, Sembawang, Hougang, Sengkang and Bedok are expected to be painted with cool coatings by end-2026. 😎

Step into any HDB estate and you’ll notice that there’s lots of greenery! While some existing trees on housing sites are conserved as we develop new projects, others may have to be removed to facilitate works and movement of machinery.

It’s a tough call to make, so we keep a special look out for keystone species to conserve as part of the green corridors in our estates. These species provide food to many animal species and form the backbone of the ecosystem!

In every BTO project, we also plant new trees to offer shade, support biodiversity, and keep our estates .
