What would you do differently if you were given the chance?

At Aftercare@YR at Yellow Ribbon Singapore, this question drives us to raise awareness, generate acceptance, and mobilise community action to support ex-offenders in their reintegration journey.

What would you do differently if you were given the chance?

At Careers@YR at Yellow Ribbon Singapore, it's about helping ex-offenders find meaningful jobs through career conversations, self-awareness building, and job matching that align their strengths with employers' needs. It also includes providing career retention support through case management for up to 12 months after release.

It is not just about creating opportunities, it is about helping others rise above and seize them.

We headed down to the PSB Academy Charity Walk for the Yellow Ribbon Project to ask one simple question: "What do second chances mean to you?" 👣

The answers reminded us that while everyone's journey is different, the need for support remains the same.🎗️ When we walk together, we show that no one has to walk their path to reintegration alone. 💛 Shoutout to PSB Academy including the organisers, students and participants, and Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim for being a part of our journey of beyond second chances. 🌟

What do second chances mean to you? Tell us in the comments!

Returning to the workforce again can feel like stepping into the unknown. It is only natural to feel a flutter of nerves about workplace culture or daily expectations after time away.

Through career talks organised by Yellow Ribbon Singapore, inmates on Community-Based Programmes hear directly from industry voices, gaining a clearer sense of what to expect and how to find their footing at work. These sessions help them feel seen, supported, and ready to begin their next chapter.

With partners like the Singapore Logistics Association, we are opening up conversations, sharing real experiences, and building confidence for the road ahead. Because preparation goes beyond skills. It is about understanding, support, and the belief that everyone deserves a fair chance to start again.

Step into the world of 'Dining Behind Bars – Unlocking Second Chances', where employers and community partners gained deeper insights into rehabilitation and reintegration. 🍽️

Guests savoured delectable baked goods from the Yellow Ribbon Bakery and canapés and ingredients prepared by inmates 🍪🤤. They also witnessed the assembly of surgical masks as part of work programmes, which equip inmates with valuable vocational and employability skills. 💪

The immersive dining experience, complemented by musical performances by inmates from the Performing Arts Centre, provided participants with a glimpse into the lives of those given second chances. 🎗️

Let's continue to support the inmates, staff, , employers and community partners who made this event possible! 💛

Belief grows when skills are built.

That is what Skills@YR at Yellow Ribbon Singapore aims to do - enhancing the employability of inmates and ex-offenders through upskilling, accredited training and more, in line with the Skills Frameworks under the SkillsFuture Singapore.
