BMTC-Test

All recruits in Basic Military Training (BMT) undergo training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the operation of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED), ensuring their ability to react promptly during emergencies.

They dedicate themselves to training wholeheartedly, ensuring readiness for when the need arises.

As recruits at BMTC undergo their first swim test, each splash and stroke they make builds waves of newfound confidence in the pool.

Swimming engages the whole body, providing a fun workout and a unique alternative to their regular training!

Marching with purpose and determination, our recruits from BMTC School III, Raven Company, embarked on a significant journey to Changi Beach for their Weapon Presentation Ceremony. This historic site, marked by the sacrifices of many during World War II, serves as a poignant reminder of the duty our soldiers bear.

At Changi Beach, amidst the embrace of loved ones, our recruits took a solemn step forward in their National Service journey. The Weapon Presentation Ceremony not only symbolises their commitment but also underscores the importance of safeguarding our nation.

Earlier this month, the Basic Military Training Centre (BMTC) warmly welcomed new enlistees, along with their parents and loved ones, for the 02/24 BMT Enlistment exercise. Our commanders extended a heartfelt welcome to the fresh recruits as they commenced their journey from civilians to trained soldiers, dedicated to safeguarding Singapore’s sovereignty.

As our recruits officially embark on their NS journey, the BMTC expresses its gratitude to all attendees of the enlistment exercise. Thank you for your support, and please follow us to stay updated on our upcoming activities. We wish our new recruits every success in their training endeavours!

During the month of Ramadan, COMD SAF BMTC, COL Muhammad Helmi, broke fast with the recruits at Ladang Camp and Rocky Hill Camp.

He reminded the recruits about the significance of fasting, and shared the experiences of previous generations of recruits who persevered through BMT. He also emphasised the need to be safe, given the hot weather months and the gruelling demands of training, and advocated the importance of safety and well-being of soldiers, and the need to ensure every soldier can go back to their families and loved ones safe, every week.

We are just one more day to the end of Ramadan. It has been a blessed month, and the recruits have done well to persevere through BMT. Kudos and well done to all!

It's a great day to be a soldier!

On 28 February 2024, the Change of Appointment Ceremony was held for out-going School Sergeant Major (SSM) of BMTC School 1 (SSM1), MWO Tan Chuan Soon and in-coming SSM1, MWO Lim Kek Boon.

The ceremony was witnessed by LTC Oh Chin Chye, Commanding Officer of BMTC School 1.

MWO Tan has served as SSM 1 for the four years. During his tenure, he has supported BMTC School 1 in maintaining standards and discipine. Above and beyond, he has performed the role of a mentor and parenal figure to his subordinates. MWO Lim was the Officer Commanding of Eagle Company, BMTC School 1, before his appointment as SSM1.

SAF BMTC wishes MWO Tan Chuan Soon all the best for his future endeavours and congratulates MWO Lim Kek Boon in his new role as SSM of BMTC School 1!

Partnering With Schools to engage the Next Generation!

During the commemoration of 40 years of Total Defence, our soldiers from SAF BMTC visited Admiralty Primary School to share about their National Service (NS) journey, the purpose of NS, and the importance of Total Defence in Singapore. Students of Admiralty Primary School had an enjoyable time as they participated in quizzes and learning to respond to common drill commands.

Thereafter, the leaders of SAF BMTC held an info exchange with the school's management to gleam from each other's experience in teaching through the usage of technology.

Congratulations to our recruits who have completed their Basic Military Training (BMT)! Graduating at Our Tampines Hub (OTH), it is the culmination of their efforts during BMT and their first major milestone in their National Service (NS) Journey. Gracing the parades as Reviewing Officers are Mr Vikram Nair, MP for Sembawang GRC for the morning session and Mr Don Wee 黄文鸿, MP for Chua Chu Kang GRC for the evening session.

A huge shoutout to our fellow comrades from SAF BMTC School V, who have successfully completed their vocational training!

Tossing their caps and berets up high, our trained soldiers will continue to serve our nation!
