One journey. One fare. ๐Ÿš๐Ÿš† Distance fares mean you pay for the total distance you travel across buses and MRT/LRT rather than for each boarding.

Two PTCโ€™s initiatives to foster a more caring commuting culture were recognised at the Ministry of Transport Awards Ceremony, receiving a Ministerโ€™s Innovation Award (Merit) each.

The โ€œCaring Commuters Games - Inspiring Inclusive Journeys Through Playโ€ project, which was developed in collaboration with Singapore Polytechnic, reimagines commuter education through immersive, interactive gameplay. The initiative empowers students to become champions of gracious and inclusive commuting.

The โ€œCaring Commuter Award 2025 Pixel Art Animationโ€ was also recognised with the Ministerโ€™s Innovation Award - Social Media (Merit). Designed to raise awareness of the Caring Commuter Award and highlight everyday acts of care, the animation uses game-inspired visuals and rhythmic storytelling to engage and connect with the public.

We remain committed to advancing initiatives that encourage a more gracious, inclusive and thoughtful commuting experience for all!

This afternoon, our Director of Policy & Regulation, Toh Eu Jin, joined international experts at the UITP India, UITP Asia-Pacific and UITP Australia-New Zealand webinar on "Connected Journeys: Advancing Multimodal Integration of Public Transport".

Eu Jin shared how Singapore enables seamless public transport journeys through a fully-harmonised distance-based fare system. With a single journey fare across bus and rail โ€“ and no extra charges when transferring โ€“ this is made possible by an integrated ticketing system that allows commuters to pay seamlessly across all modes. He also highlighted our journey towards account-based ticketing, new card schemes under exploration, and targeted concession support for lower-income groups.

The webinar featured valuable insights from speakers from Australia, Hong Kong and India on putting commuters at the centre of multimodal transport design โ€“ from clearer wayfinding and passenger information, to better coordination across modes and more sustainable system planning These global exchanges show that while each region faces unique challenges, we share common goals in creating public transport systems that truly serve our communities.

Together, we are connecting the world through better public transport! ๐ŸŒ
